I think you need a nice car with a Mopar engine

Jeez, you're onto a new bandwagon faster than you can say "Magic Wagon"

I like to think of it as I learned to love Mother Mopar again.

well i test drove another grand prix tonite, an 01 fully loaded (dual zone AC). they were asking 2000$ so i knew it would have some issues, but there was nothing not blatantly obvious on this one. the funny part of the test was it was a Hyundai dealer that had it. Bright shiny fancy dealer. the salesman tells me its at the warehouase, so he takes us there. Its like this super secret car storage lair! its an old pratt and whitney plant. As we are driving he hits the door opener button and we enter this door. well turns out said door ware for an old really long indoor loading dock. right in line with the door is a ramp up to the floor level, they had hundreds of beaters in there, it was really really cool!

Sounds like the giant repo car warehouse in Seattle I once went to for an auction. It was like if Costco started selling cars...

not so fast... you never just buy the head gasket. It's a kit, with bolts and in the case of my 3100's... it was $254.00 US.

through rockauto.com, the kit is $127.00US... BUT YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE HEAD BOLTS WHEN YOU DO THIS JOB. The replacement bolts are $23.00 or so. (US $ of course)

I'm gonna suggest something I normally wouldn't but have seen it used on throw away cars and it worked. Get ready. Block sealant in a can. Its expensive but if you follow the directions, I have seen it do the job about 50% of the time. They make it for head gaskets and cracked blocks. Why not give it a go?

its odd, im torn, the car has sentimental value and a ton of stupid problems, this engine really runs great, thats the biggest thing. it just pisses prestone out the back end

Oh, don't get me wrong Sam. I agree. But if its just a beater that I really don't feel like digging into and its either going to the crusher, or maybe I can pour this magic crap into it and it will last another year or 2, hell pour away. I only suggest this on a vehicle that you will never open up again as far as mechanics go.

I thought in Quebec you can get R134A over the counter unlike the rest of Canada?
