R32! R32! It may not be a Cobalt, and the DSG is awesome. I was against it. Then I drove one. SEX.

While the R32 is awesome... I'm going to guess that when it comes down to paying for it, I'll likely get a 2.5 Rabbit for about half the cost.

yeah for sure but they hold their value extremely well considering that mk4 r32's still sell for over 20k depending on mileage / condition / if it's been in an accident.

you could buy a mk5 r32 from the states too, you'll save quite a bit.

i liked them when they came out... they were a pissed off Golf. A guy that worked next door at SMI had one. He was talking shit one night on the way out of work and we lined them up. (Wood gate to main gate is exactly 1/4 mile) I had him out of the hole and held him through 100mph/3rd gear. One thing that I was wondering about was when he dropped the hammer on the launch(he was in the suicide lane), only the front wheels were spinning? The R32 is AWD, right?

And did I suggest a Cobalt when he asked? No. So STFU.

For the record... I drive (when I drive) a 2000 VW Golf. While speed/performance in nice, it isn't my deciding factor.

you obviously haven't driven a mk5 r32 to say that. it's immensely fun. I thought that too, till I drove one.

Very rarely is an automatic a fun car to drive.

All this time I thought we were talking about an MK4 R32 .......man I need to pay more attention

I completely agree with you on that one, but the mk5 r32 (dsg) is insane especially with the flash like nismo said.

mk4 r32 are standard only.

Hrm.. was hoping to hold out to Spring... but the 2000 VW has shit the bed. Timing belt went while driving up the Don Valley Parkway, and did some damage. Looks like we are going to be buying something asap.

VW Golf TDI Comfortline with the multimedia package. And our old VW will be going to bandi to be reborn as a rally car. So excited to see the eventual results.

Congrats on your new ride! We need some pics!

I can't wait to see what you and Bandi do to the old VW. We definitely need pics from beginning to end.

It will be ALL Bandi. I'll be lucky if he lets me even look at it.

Photos of the new ride to come after I pick it up tonight.
