Actually, yeah. I guess more out of necessity than anything though; mine didn't have A/C.

When it was really, really hot and sunny, my technique was to leave the actual top up, but remove the doors and all the windows.

Folks might want to leave their hard tops on to deter theft.

Found a Harry Potter car:

Queensbury NY is just down the road here... last time this guy tried to sell that car, he started at $5k... it's really nothing more than a rotted shell. It's not even worth $500.

another reason it ain't sold in 5 years is the fact that its a salvage title and here in New York, reversing a salvage title is an epic task... epic and expensive.

Bummer. The shell doesn't look too bad, actually. They're pretty hard to find in the US.

SO... can someone find me a '58-'64 Beetle in restorable condition within a day's drive of where I live? Don't need an engine, interior, etc... just basically a rolling shell that's not made entirely out of rust.

I'm tired of not having this:

Yeahhhhhh I've found a bunch out your way. Sadly it'd cost a million dollars in fuel with the POS truck I'd be using to haul it back.

That's only about 5-10 minutes from my house. I could totally go scope it out.

Custom fading and rust reduction is quite common around these parts.
