I wasn't sure where to put this but Is it ok if I post events (like drain parties and meetups in the twin cities) on UER so I can possibly meet other explorers? I found the events page but I can't post anything on there yet. Can someone please help me with that? I just wanted to make sure that was ok to do before I do it.

What's up people of UER, I've been exploring for a little over a year now and had an account since right after my first explore but only spectated until I got serious with this stuff recently. So far I've explored all the well known places near me that aren't too scary but I've since gotten more curious. I'm super interested in the stuff that looks like people just up and left but have only managed to explore more decayed places. Would love to meet some explorers near me as I've yet to do so.

Hey guys!
I'm Matze, 25y.o., an explorer and infiltrator from the ruhrarea in germany. I'm exploring now since over 8 years and had seen a lot of interesting stuff in europe. I'm not the best english speaker, but I'm glad to be here.
If anyone of you guys plans a trip to the ruhrarea, you can hit me up and I'll try my best to help you for locations and a place to stay. See you!

hii im 18 im from the greater cincy area (hamilton side) and just getting into sploring after a long time interest, pursuing photography too once i can afford a decent camera. ive worked through a couple of old mills and warehouses, a quarry with equipment, an old school as well as a beginner tower climb. this summer im branching out and trying some drains and tunneling and more climbing (i have my eyes on a radio mast that shouldnt cook me). rn im listening to refused and fugazi discog and researching areas in cincinatti.
hmu if youre nearby, i only have one friend stupid/cool enough to do this with and we need could use some muscle for sketchier places <3

Hey yall I'm Flav0rtown, a 22 year old explorer in northern Virginia. I've been doing urbex since I was 16 and have done many locations in Virginia, DC, and Maryland, with a few in NC, PA, IN, and IL as well. I've been lucky enough to have friends into urbex but none of us have ever been big into the online scene so I'm trying to change that, share some of what we find and meet new people to explore shit with. I'm also a massive nerd so I'm pursuing a project to 3D model abandoned spaces using photogrammetry and possibly LIDAR. If you have any interest or insight into that subject or exploring in the DMV, feel free to drop me a message. Cheers!

Hello all! I’m a 20 y/o college grad currently in the Long Island/NYC area. I’ve always loved the concept of urbex and been fascinated by the built environment, especially the infrastructure behind the scenes that does the dirty work. My love of machinery plus the rush of being where I shouldn’t is what keeps me going back. I could go on and on about how satisfying it is to access the ugly, unfinished, beautiful, beating heart of the places we go every day but I’m sure y’all get it or you wouldn’t be here.

Cut my teeth on the steam tunnels, subbasements, and roofs of my university down in Texas. Bonus points if anyone can guess which school (hint: not A&M).

Brand new to east coast urbex, trying to slowly build a network and get some trips under my belt. Never been into the photography aspect, but I plan to shoot future trips for record keeping purposes. I tend to lean methodical in terms of preparation and I don’t like taking uncalculated risks. Studied MechE undergrad and have experience in residential construction. Looking forward to being a member of this fine community✌️

To whomever is so interested, I’m not a new member technically speaking. I just don’t know what the rules are regarding specific advertising of one’s art. See I’m in the Great Lakes area and I’m a writer whose writing a loosely based on fact novel of a collaboration of my travels, my mishaps , ( getting wet and getting out to -40 windchill weather freezing solid to the stairs in mid stride and having to be rescued by my smarter than I - pantsless friend my coat was still standing upright in the back of his car after getting home 1 hour 10 min later frozen stiff ) anyway it’s my life’s masterpiece but I need some helpful criticism. I want this to rock more than just the urbex and local community. I also want to rock the historians and anyone else in the area that’s old as the sewage drains I so love to slip into.
But I don’t want to advertise with my link cuz I have mad respect for not having stuff shoved down my throat on this site. It’s the only non advertising platform here. So I’ll say this and you guys if you want to read my stuff you can if not ok if not and when I’m done and figure out how to transfer my art illustrations and the story to journals on here , I’ll probably give that a try. To whomever made this site : you are my hero and I appreciate what you’re doing. If I broke any code please don’t hesitate to remove my post. Please though replace it or perhaps regardless add a section to rules that goes into detail about video documentaries historical folklore and actual interviews and personal artistic FREE content or content in the making. Thanks guys. Check it out if this works the story is called

“ the underground adventures of panda girl “ it’s on medium so you may have to plug both in your search engine of choice. I’m not linking it until I’m told it’s ok. Love true - your friendly neighborhood TrashPanda

Who are you looking - drain parties are a bad bad idea here. It’s a good way to get busted and or dead. One rainstorm unexpectedly and you or one of your fiends are gonners. That river is not your friend. So many think ok just get spat out into the river that river , even the strongest can’t survive in for more than 2 hours with life vest on before hypothermia and head trauma.

Please please please don’t advertise to anyone outside the community about the drains either. It’s not smart. If you need a partner I may be able to find you a mentror or a partner your age - I’m guessing you’re probably pretty young?

Let me know send me private message and above all I speak out of love for everyone and I don’t want to be hauling your body out of the river or the catch nauseas like I’ve already had to do more than I care to talk.. just be safe

1. Don’t invite outsiders by sharingburbex links on meet up or fb please.
2. Do find a partner, do not ever go alone.
3. If you are going down, tell someone, tell anyone who can hold you accountable for your return.
4. Check in points and times save lives especially in the twin cities underground. One of the most hardcore haphazard exploration grounds especially considering the river. Tell your checkpoint buddy a time and a location. If they don’t hear from you that exact time then they bring rescuers to the location. If you’re good at being self disciplined you may never need the rescue team drain and river combing.

Love True for you fellow human.

I'm sorry I don't know what you talking about here. I'm also new to UER too so I didn't know the rules (same as you). I'm sorry if I offended you. I'm looking for friends to go exploring with.

FYI I don't have a lot of people who want to go exploring with me. For whatever reason when I ask people to hang out with me they blow me off, ignore me and cancel out with me. I try to ask people to hang out with me and sometimes I do hang out with friends but it's hard to do these days.

He's been exploring for 10+ years and also regularly hosts meetups. These meetups are great for new people to get into the community and old members to hang out at. You make good safety points which are always good to share but you should really meet him before making any assumptions. DM him and come to one of his meetups, I believe one is coming up this month. That'll give you a chance to get to know him. Welcome (back?) to UER!

Well my 3 days wait to post is up and now I can make my first post. I'm excited to get exploring and I already have several locations I'm interested in. There are several drains on the public data base map that look interesting that I'll try and check out soon. Another location is some old factory or storage place that's not on the publicly available database map so I'm excited to get to share that with the forums soon. With all that being said I hope to become a valued member of the community in time

Edit: forgot to include an introduction to who i am.I'm wade from Tulsa Oklahoma

I second what Dofflin said, hoover is very experienced with drains (specifically) and will explore them with a passion of likes the which you have never seen.

And like Dofflin stated, The drain meetups are pretty great for new explorers, and offers a good way to meet other people looking to explore underground or really whatever.

That, and like literally some of the only things you have to worry about here in the twin cities with drains are like, the river level, rain (and other weather depending on the time of year) and maybe rusty ladders. Unless you're out here trying to lift manholes in the middle of roads from underneath, but at that point its Darwinism

Good luck out there and welcome to UER!
