Hello All. New member creeping around Philly and the surrounding area. I love finding uncharted and forgotten places. There's something really beautiful about decay.

Hi, you can call me Pancakes. I live in the Kansas City area, but I'm moving to college somewhere near Jefferson City when fall comes. I've actually had this account for about two years but I never bothered to introduce myself until now.

I've taken some pictures of various little places I've passed while on vacation with my family, but I don't have anything from close to where I live. Most things that are considered "abandoned" around here are too big or well-guarded for me to even think about messing with. I'll upload what I do have sometime soon. I'm hoping I can become a full member someday, but for now I'm just gonna hang around like I am.

Hello everyone.. I live in the Portland metro area in Oregon. I do a lot of traveling (I've lived and worked in Alaska, Oregon, Washington, and California, and traveled through Mexico and Canada).
I first found knowledge when I read a fiction book about these urban explorers that went into an old hotel, and plots happened. It was a horror book, and so PLOT STUFF ASIDE, I was intrigued by urbex but never really looked into it after that.
But my desire to explore, well, ANYTHING, has always been around. I was always the kid that would go and explore trails immediately when we went camping, or wanted to check out creepy looking buildings, and so on. Always will take the pass less traveled, just to see what it's like. My spontaneity knows no bounds, although some people call it "recklessness" whatever THAT means, PFFFFFFFT. Also I'm sarcastic.
I've explored like 3 places, and now that I'm a little more into the scene, I already have a list of places to go to.
I'm pretty mobile and will travel almost anywhere if I have the means a way. If you know of some places and are looking to explore with others, hit me up! I'll probably be down for about anything.

Hey everyone, I'm Bugeater. Im pretty new to this whole urbex thing but I've got some prior experience. My first real excursion was to the Packard Auto Plant in Detroit where I was nearly stabbed (at least.) I just recently had the urge to go out again - and was online looking for places when I stumbled upon this website. Immediately I went to one of the meets, before I could even post (with my girlfriend) and we had a blast. We met a couple of other explorers and trespassed on an active building. It was exhilarating to say the least. The day after I drove around with RosyCheeks and we found a location not far from my house, and the set of photos from that place became my first post. Everyone seems really supportive and nice, and I think I'm gonna have a great time getting to know you all!

Hello Everyone, I am from the MSP metro area of Minnesota. I just recently discovered this website, but have been exploring and doing Urbex related things for years, mostly in the form of cross country running/walking/exploring along railroad tracks, industrial areas, bridges and other interesting areas as a member of the Hash House Harriers. I explored my first storm drain recently and would like to link up with other explorers in the area at some point. The history, photography and adventure aspects of this hobby are all very exciting to me and I can't wait to do more.

Hi guys, I don't know if anybody really reads these but if anyone's watching, hi. I'm Tyler, I live on Long Island. I've read a bunch about UE, and looked at a bunch of the pictures here, but there's obviously nothing like going out in the real world for real. This weekend I'm gonna start discovering what the world has to offer me, and I'm real excited. Anyway, that's my introduction post, peace.

Hello UER. My name is Brett and I live in the triad area in North Carolina. I wouldn't really say I'm new to urban exploration because I've done that kind of thing before, but I never knew what to call it and I've never been part of a community. But I just wanted to introduce myself after counting down the hours before I could post.

My friend manhandled me up a roof once.

Hello everyone, My name is ...BZZZT ... and I live in the Seattle area. I've always had an interest in photographing abandonment and urban decay. I discovered UER while I was researching an abandoned building that I drive by everyday. So far I'm impressed with the enthusiasm and photographic talent on the website. I've done some solo exploring and look forward to becoming a contributing member to this community.

Welcome, Seahawk. We'll overlook that other name. Best to remain anonymous here, The Man might be lurking 8)

And what good luck that you've got a place to look forward to exploring. Seattle isn't as well endowed in regards to abandonments as our eastern and Canadian friends. There's some helpful info for new explorers in the Rookie and Tutorials forums. And you'll find a few locations that are in the public domain to explore in the location database ( UE DB ).

Thanks for the welcome and heads up Ganesha. Been to a number of the public DB locations already as they are good for solo trips. The location I was researching I'm assuming is a fairly well known location around here that I think has recently increased security and was probably not a safe solo location even before that. It will have to remain a pipe dream for now.

Hi! I work in an area surrounded by classic architecture that was neglected and abandoned for many years. Many of these fantastic buildings are gutted or have been ransacked and others are in the process of being renovated. There are many of the buildings I walk past daily that I would absolutely love to get inside. I found the forum after following a local blogger who is also active here for a while. When I mentioned the quest to see inside the ~~~ building before construction begins for renovation, I found out my dream runs in the family- and a box of older pictures from the 1970s might be found if they ever get to cleaning out the closets!

Hello!
I am a teenager, almost in college, living in the Ann Arbor area of Michigan, and I have had some limited, but fascinating experiences with Urban Exploration around my area. I really want to document some of the places I have seen, and gain access to all sorts of interesting places to explore. My main hangup is the legality as it is very possible if one gets caught that you could be 'rescinded' or denied from colleges. I personally believe UE members should be able to petition to get a pass of some sort, but the government to be fair has more pressing issues. Anyway I hope to be active even as I am finishing up senior year and I'm looking foreword to posting a few pictures I have. I go by the username papoba since it was my first DnD character. I prefer to remain anonymous for now

Howdy,

My name is Kenny, new to the PHX area with moderate urbex experience--transplant from Chicago. I am a talented writer and photographer, I have already thrown up a post or two in the regional forum with a few shots.

Hoping to meet locals to pick up where I left off!

I've attached a few shots and an article I wrote.

Please do. Some of us may meet in RL, and in that realm there's no hiding. But online let's all stay comfortably anonymous.

Re: getting caught, you can rely on it to happen sooner or later if you explore abandoned spaces without permission. The consequences will vary depending on the law covering the property, choices security/police make, and your own conduct. Still, it happens. ;) Be careful out there.

i don't understand forums very much.
philly based but i drive a bunch.

i'm fond of kirkbrides.
i work at an abandoned state school / hospital (shun me all you want)
used to work at an abandoned prison.

i guess i'm looking for means of safe travels. recently i set off a few alarms and it bugs me. i'm not necessarily looking for places and access, but more just tips - like dont park near there, or pre dawn that shit.
