Posted by decrepitude If anyone has any old photos to add I'm sure it couldn't hurt the intel of the thread. What you say Talisman? |
Posted by Talisman Speaking of stables, the 5th one in your last set looks like the old Lighthorse stables that used to stand out there...until they bulldozed that piece of history a couple of years ago. |

Posted by decrepitude Well that certainly escalated quickly. FastEddy are you telling me we'll need approved permits to ride the trails here now? |
Posted by Talisman I'll no longer be posting regularly in this thread. My time and efforts I think will be better spent trying to educate the locals about this place, showing them it's beauty and helping them to see that it is land that should not be torn up and developed on. I will likely be spending most of my time there in the wild areas instead of skulking around the abandonments, but will be sure to post pics of anything I find that may be of interest to you fellow explorers. Meanwhile, please feel free to use this thread to post your own pics of this awesome location. And if any of you are planning a visit, don't hesitate to hit me up, I'm always happy to play the tour guide. "What we get from this adventure is just sheer joy, and joy is, after all, the end of life. We do not live to eat and make money,we eat and make money to be able to live. That is what life means and what life is for." - George Mallory, first man known to attempt the ascent of Everest. Peace! |
Posted by Cambrianguy Have really enjoyed your posts in this thread. Been a while since I've gone Ording and I'm always amazed at what's still left there. So much to see. Thanks for sharing all that you have so far (and anything in the future still). |
Posted by decrepitude Thanks very much Talisman from the folks who can't always get out here and great thread overall. |
Posted by Talisman One more thing.... |
Posted by FastEddy So I think what you're saying is that riding your bike through there does not constitute trespassing unless someone in authority explicitly asks you to leave and you refuse. CVC 670. A "vehicle" is a device by which any person or property may be propelled, moved, or drawn upon a highway, excepting a device moved exclusively by human power or used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks. |
Posted by Talisman Hate to see this thread get lost in the archives so I'll add to it once in a while... just some old stuff I didn't bother to post before cuz it aint that good. |
Posted by Talisman Went out for a ride this morning and stopped by the barracks on the way home. The fog began to clear so it put me in the mood. 5...and your usual Raccoon hanging from the rafters with its face chewed off! |
