Yup, found a bunch o water in a ton o the basements.

That's what you'll normally see after a massive rainstorm, it wasn't related to any storm surge.

That will happen anywhere. If you really think that diminishes the quality of something, maybe you are going to "UE" for the wrong reasons...

Like glorify your photos.. Not actually enjoy the point behind UE'n...

Art does add character and can be beautiful and very tasteful but Im speaking of the crap that kids do, not for art but usually boredom, same goes for breaking windows & arson, it draws unecessary attention to these sites & increases police presence drastically, how does that benefit us as a community?

As someone else said artists frequent these locations for canvas, improvement & to be out of plain sight of 5.0. Tagging can be artistic but some of it takes away from the beauty.

Ive seen a bit of both here in Brooklyn. Ive seen urban Picassos & Michaelangelo's & I've seen typical gang & teen style "art" & its like night & day. Ill have to add it tomorrow but I do have some pics of the more artistic stuff & the not so talented stuff

I hear ya. But I UE for the friendship, exploring etc. If I cared about some kid with a "canvas" I shouldn't be UE'n.....

You have to admit, a ton of people buy SLR's spend 10 hours in LR/PS only to post here and wait for people to give them an ego boost...

That's NOT what UE'n is about...

To me, posting photos on here is like is like bringing cannoli's to an Italian dinner. It's bringing a little token of appreciation to your host as a thank you for stuffing your fat ass full of pasta, but in this case it's bringing a little something to the party that maybe not everyone has seen/tasted. Yes there are plenty of photo hogs out there who live in LR/PS just to boost their ego's & pics so they aren't as flat & lifeless as they are in real life. Only reason I personally got a DSLR is because I was sick of my P.O.S P&S focusing on everything & anything except for what I wanted. Hell, my GS3 does a better job of focusing than the P&S.

You do have to admit though, some of the HDR shots are great though

This is awesome.

If you want a place for "good" (subjective, of course) graffiti, check out Graffiti Alley in Baltimore: https://www.google...1366&bih=643&dpr=1

Maybe not the best example I was expecting. Plus not all places lend themselves to good hdr. I have seen some non urbex hdr shots that look good. Hdr or no hdr was getting away from the point on the 2nd page about graffiti being art or vomit. Some graffiti can bring beauty to a site like 5pointz & Graffiti Alley. But some of it like a simple "fuck you" or someone spraying a dick on the wall isn't anything to write home about or post.

Art is subjective by nature, just look at all the different styles & what appeals to who & I guess graffiti is no different. It is an art form, but at times its an invasive art form that takes over a site & 9 out of 10 times it brings the law in & turns our hobby into a headache. If we're just poking around a site, usually out of site & there is no real trace of our presence no attention is drawn to it but once the tagging starts it tends to go downhill at least around here.

If its done right. That rarely ever happens though. There are a few members here who really hit the nail on the head with it.

True.
Also, if it was done right, you wouldn't even think it was HDR.

I hate how HDR has become a "style" or "look". It is merely a tool.
I can make clown vomit without using HDR.

Thats exactly what I had meant. Some are just too far out there & take away from the shot. Some have that perfect balance & make it look surreal. You know the types of shots I mean. I wouldnt even attempt Hdr at this point simply because Id rather learn a little more first before I get into any fancy tricks like that. Hell, I've only used PS to edit out a license plate so far, the shots I put up are exactly how they come out of my camera. I have a few more shots of this location but I think the areas been covered a few times

Thank you insulin, not many people seem to remember that. & when people search for the common name this page shows up but kpsh is the older name & not as many people search for it.

It is more likely than not the most popular UE spot on LI & a boatload of people have been there & some have posted what theyve seen. Does that make it any less interesting? No. The posts people see about it, the more they might want to get off their asses & actually explore not just browse a forum or 2. Theres 1 spot in my neighborhood that no one has seen but I haven't gotten around to getting there yet.
