| | | Accually Mark, GOOD combat boots(or tactical boots for those that get freaked out about combat) are very quiet. They are designed in a way that Spec-Ops teams (ie: SEALs, Force Recon, Rangers, ect...) which are noted for their stealth, can be stealthy. I myself own tabi and will agree that they are quieter, but they don't have much padding on the inside sole to protect your feet while walking/running on hard ground which eventually leads to shin splints. (I speak from experience) Also, tabi have no protection from what you might step on such as nails or sharp rocks. On the plus side, they make climbing fences much easier, but climbing rope can be painful.

| | | Most combat boots that these guys are talking about arent quiet at all. The exceptions off the top of my head are Oakley's, and GSG9's. Most of the rest are not great.

| | | doc martins are great and i wore them for years the thing that i found wrong with them is the soft sole doesn't protect from anything, and the damn things are a death sentence in the winter. one step on ice in doc's and you will be on your ass. i do however like teh 1" bumper on the front and back for kicking things

Yup, they're the boots from the Tomb Raider movies. It's a little bit silly, I know, but they're comfy as hell.

| | | No. On the Jinxy mission I wore 3 1/2" heels, and shocked the hell out of Agent Kaos when I managed to vault a 10" fence in under 3 seconds wearing those stupid shoes. The phrase "Oh, I guess the door was alarmed" inspires some impressive acrobatics. I wear a different, but similar, pair of boots when draining. I can't be bothered with waders unless it's freezing cold. Typical draining attire is knee-high leather boots and a mini-skirt. I've joked about using that paint-on latex you can buy in fetish shops as the ultimate draining attire that I might have to actually put my money where my mouth is, so to speak, and do it up in the spring.

I found them online, Googling "Lara Croft boots." You can buy them here. The company that makes them sells the black ones from the first movie, and the brown ones from the second movie. I've got to warn you, though, their sizing chart is a total fucking nightmare. The company is in the UK, and you have to have faith when you order them. The first pair I got was supposed to fit a size 8 (I wear 7 or 7.5 usually, but figured better a little big than a little small). Instead they fit my friend's size 10 feet. I had to pay to ship them back, and then pay to ship another pair over. I paid 3 times in all for the shipping (here, back again, here again). Ended up adding another $150 to the cost of the boots. As for the holsters, I'm lucky enough to have a friend who procured them for me. But that's a whole 'nother story. (Note: the ones I ended up keeping were their size 5, and even they are a little big. If you're going to buy them, fax them a traced outline of your foot with a little scale in inches and cm drawn on. I did, but they didn't get back to me until after I'd placed the second order. I should be wearing the size 4s but I'll be damned if I'm going to pay for shipping twice more.)

| | | Posted by Horus92 I just wear sneakers. I do have boots that I sometimes use in drains, but I use my sneakers most of the time. They work fine, my mom just gets pissed when I track mud in the house.
|
The one time I regretted wearing sneakers was in a drain. I don't mind wet feet much, but I had no traction (soles worn down), so I was afraid to cross this thing

| | | I've got a nice pair of Terra Protectors they came free with the job! haha not bad, they're mad expensive I hear. oh and they're nice for winter too, very warm, but I gotta get the left one repaired, I tore the toe open when I dropped one of those 20ft EZ-Up tents on it. thank god for steel toes! oh and they're csa approved, and can be rather quiet. they can be a bit tricky climbing fences, but not too bad. I've been thinking of a way to modify the sole at the toe o better climb fences. but anyways, that's it. oh and they're real horrorshow kicking boots
