| | | | Hello hello everyone, appears that the best way to approach a new forum is to introduce oneself, so I shall do just that! Im a hippie from South Carolina who has just been introduced to the whole, exploration thing, and have fallen madly in love with the concept of..*gasp* leaving the house and doing stuff im not supposed to do! Not that Im foreign to the concept of doing things im not supposed to do, just doing them outside, in fresh air, is a frightening concept that I am soon warming up too.
I have a photobucket link in my profile that has my introductory UER pictures and some around the house mischief, observe that if you'd like a general mental image introduction of me and my exploration style, and thats about all the information I can think of that any of you crazy people might be interested in! Hope to learn a lot from you guys.

| | | | Howdy all...I "think" this is my first post but am not sure. Its 0420 and im punch drunk.
Anyway, wanted to get in a quick hello to everyone as a new member of the boards. I was directed here by a couple members and so far find it a good place to land. Ive been interested in UE for a long time now, just didnt realize there were so many like minded around the world. I didnt know it was a true hobby.
My experience ranges from abandonments (houses) in the upstate NY area to active buildings in Kodak Park (power plant and darkroom buildings). I never realized there were so many places to explore at the time I was living there in Wayne and Monroe counties, on and off for many years. I now am located in S. Texas and my eyes are opening fast to this online community. I hope to meet many of you and dont plan on disappearing any time soon.

I've only been registered on this site for three days but I must say, it's truly amazing. So far, my only real UE experience was the Lister Block last February. Prior to that, I was mostly into checking out old cemetaries, there are quite a few of them around here. Anyway, thanks for the info and advice!

Thanks for this site. Its been a long time coming but its great to see that other people grew up and realized they were still fun at heart. I thought I was alone in being close to 30 and wanting to Explore abandoned building like when i was young and foolish. but now that Im a bit wiser i know how to properly enjoy things and do it right rather than burn it down.
So anyway, Im in South EasternPa and am looking for other UE'rs in the WilmingtonDE, Ne MD, or Lancaster County area who need another explorer. I grew up next to Philly so Eastern State Pen is also on the list of places iv been and like to go back to.
Drop a line and Id love to meet up. Im open to most anything as long as its interesting. Iv done the farmhouse exploration to much poison ivey and splinters. Theres some old steel plants not too far from here. Get in touch and Hello!

Now that Im here in Providence, seems Im going to school with a few ue fans (ones a die-hard photostudent)- unfortunately my domestic self having never really bothered with the Providence locales not quite sure where we should be cutting our teeth in the city. A few of my favorites got demo'd over the summer so..yeah. Drop me a line if you're familiar with the area or else trekking to the rusty bridge is going to be our usual field trip :/

|  | | | I'm DrainMole and I'm pretty much interested in anything subterranean, especially drains. Although, the odd abandoned building's fine. I've been interested in draining for a while but haven't actually really done any, not living in Australia/Canada/England/Russia. So finally, the other day I decided to open up a manhole outside my house but the tunnel was about half my height, 1 person wide, had no rungs, and was full of dead leaves. But hopefully I'll find an exploration worthy one soon...

New to the board but not to UE. It is something very close to my heart and I do it because I think that ruin is beautiful, not just into the excitement and illegality of the hobby itself. I keep pieces of rusty metal around my room, and once slept in an abandoned house.
Just moved from the UE capitol of the world (Detroit area) to Denver.

I've been browsing the board for a while, and figured it was finally time to make an introduction and become active. I'm from Cape Cod, Massachusetts and I'm interested in any kind of UE. Anyone who's been to the Cape can tell you there's basically nothing here as far as UE is concerned, so if anyone wants to recommend some locations in MA, it would be greatly appreciated. I know I'll enjoy my stay and don't plan on leaving anytime soon

I'm brand spanking new to this stuff. My only exploration as of 18 September 2005 has been of an abandoned missile silo in the nearby orchards, but I'm really hoping to find more.
I'm pretty well obsessed with military varieties of things, so I would be happy to hear from anybody with any information on nifty bases (Active or abandoned), factories, depots, airstrips, et cetera in the Northern California/Nevada/Bay Areas.
No sir, I'm not trying to break into this abandoned building. I'm birdwatching. The crowbar officer? That's just a distraction so I can get close to them. |
