|  | | | My girlfriend was telling me about the old Whitby psychiatric hospital. She went there before 90% of it got demolished. Has anyone been there recently? If so, is it worth the trip to see what's left of it? If yes then I'll definitely post pictures after a trip tonight =).

Definitely not worth the trip, but if you're passing by, take a swing - you have to go to the Western edge of the Northern part of the new facility to find the buildings. There is an alarming 'buzzing' noise coming from the flooded cottage. The 'bee' kind.

| | | | Went by last night with a friend. We got up to the cottage or the nurses building don't know which one it was. We took a look inside the hole at the front door and there was only empty white rooms. We did not breach the hole because there was nothing interesting in the place. We took off and headed back to our car and when we were 1 foot from the car another car was flashing it's headlights at us so we just took off. This could have been a security car but there was no way to tell if it was.
No pictures as it's not as interesting as it was when everything was there before!

if you went into the basements and hopped the brick walls to the north they led to secret parts of the basement.. some places untouched and containing ww2 artifacts..
maybe the tunnels are still worth checking out

| | | | LOL Lord, We were like ninja's we went right up to the old nurses building came out fine but they must have seen us on camera and sent a car over to the old buildings because he had his headlights flashing on us as we just made it to the car and got out of there. They are getting stricter on people going over to look at the old buildings.

LOL I was not a burly looking nurse  as for the time of day it was around 1 am so no patients were out at that time of the morning, I think that's why we almost got caught, like I said we were at my car by the time the headlights flashed there bulbs at me. Nothing came out of it so we are both ok and to tell u the truth there's nothing left in those buildings now should have gone to them when they were all standing but I did not get into UE until last year!

To be honest, I don't have much respect for them. I remember about two winters ago, security came out, and told me that I can't take photos of the buildings. I was outside the fence, so I felt there was no problem. I asked him why, and he gave me a very little response. He kept trying to shoo me away from the property.
If you can't beat them, shoot them!
