one thing you will never see an aerostar with a rusted hood or tailgate! they were plastic. oh and soo was the cover on the diff! learned that one the hard way! and if you took one through a snowbank too hard you ran the risk of yanking the shifter cable right off the tranny!

i had a kid down here doing neutral drops with his Aerostar (winding up the RPM's in Neutral and yanking the selector into Drive)...shattered the ring gear and blow the rear end cover right off of it... there were pieces of diff embedded in the floorpan of the van...

when i did that i knocked some teeth off the planetary gears, its also when i learned that a limited slip takes special fluid!
