I wish my pinstripe went all the way around. Stupid junkyard fender

Some compound and a little elbow grease will get rid of that...err....fender stripe.

The old, rear ended 90 740GL

I own two cars again (and briefly had them both on the road at the same time, legally)... I feel so baller haha. (JK)

In the summer, '74 Impala hardtop (pillarless) "Sport Coupe" (lol), 63K miles:

In the movie The Box:

Sometimes daily driver and in the snow, 1993 Blazer - 234K miles.

2005

Hit by a retarded "motorcyclist". Almost took the money and ran but figured I might as well fix it...

Parts from a 1992 and a 1993 Blazer that were both almost identical to mine

POS 10 bolt.

Only remedy: 14 bolt.

In "The Fighter"

LOL

Oh, and my daily: 1993 Caprice, bought with 57K back when my axle exploded, since I was NOT driving the Impala in the winter. Best money I ever spent, next to nothing. I'm at 74K now. As I've owned it I put some Moog front end stuff in it, replaced the horn buttons with doorbells (91-93 Caprices have faulty horn buttons, I took the airbag apart and put generic switches from Home Damage in there), had a brake line put in it, put a parking brake t-handle in, tuned it up, and did the alternator in five minutes (the old one seized from the car sitting and I blew the bearing when I started driving this all the time). Tossed a factory CD player in it from a Buick Roadmaster and blacked out the B-pillars, did some other stuff...

There was a 40+ year old first aid kit in it.

The grille was a mess from the car sitting under a tree I presume, so I painted it

I already had these SS wheels sitting around, scored some barely used 255/50/17 Nitto 555s from a car forum member I know, cleaned up the wheels, mounted the tires, threw them on the car with bowtie center caps

Blacked out the door pillars with vinyl

Started cleaning up the undercarriage last fall

Didn't feel like using the original hubcaps, so I used a set of early 90s NOS Chevy truck centers (pain in the ASS to do this, well kinda, trucks use different size lugs so the regular caps don't work, I had to find all the parts online)

I was going to sell this car, and I won't lie I'm a little bored with it now, but it's just so easy and cheap to own I am going to hang onto it. It's a great car to drive all the time, my insurance premium is crazy low, the car gets 28MPG on the highway, it's emissions exempt, it's quiet with no rattles inside unlike my stupid truck, etc. And I'm shocked at the amount of people who ask me about the thing, easily 2/3rds the amount of people who come up to me about the '74 (which is so often it gets tiring) ask me about this car, so weird. I bought it to be a "normal unassuming car" and I failed I guess.
In the spring I'm going to grind down and treat any rust spots under the car with MasterSeries rust-proof paint, take a rotary polisher to the car, and I might put Bonneville buckets and rear bench in it with a floor console out of a Bravada or Riviera to go in between. The seats in it are nice though, so I don't know if I can bring myself to do it.

On one of the ham radio forums I belong to, there is a guy in Texas who bought a 1995 Caprice 9C1 and did a really good job at cleaning up the entire car inside and out; removed the entire interior cleaned up everything so it looks brand new.

Yeah, you can get them pretty cheap, even the LT1 cars, and Impala SS pieces are a bolt on (as well as a lot of cheap junkyard crap)...there are a lot of them running around with Monte Carlo SS steering wheels, center and overhead consoles from other vehicle applications, different seats, etc.

I put an SS grille on mine for the hell of it
