Ah yes, the infamous Chrysler Electronic Voice Alert or EVA system. Not many people realize its actually one of the first speech synthesizers made to the public. It also had a French mode for Canada and also a alternative female voice mode. Also if you had the radio going and you got a voice alert, it would mute the radio automatically.

I've heard two stories about WHY it was put in. one was one of the K-car engineers got the idea from a trip to Disneyland listening to the "PLEASE STAY IN YOUR BOBSLED UNTIL IT HAS COME TO A COMPLETE STOP" message at the end of the Matterhorn. The other story was the result of the initial complaint with GM's new cars that had the message display that would read information about the car's issues that drivers would look down at the instrument panel longer to read the display and cause accidents.

I got this 1998 Civic DX out of the sale from my last crown vic (i've owned more than one). Has 150km, zero rust, clean, spotless, full maintenance history, but the engine was shot (hg).

I took it for $500 off the asking price of my car.
Threw a spare motor I had, d16y7 (stock motor).

Could definitely use some more torque, so i will install a b20z, and some other things. For now this car suits my limited needs, cheap. I put an intake on it, changed the wheels and tires up 1" to 15's that I got when my friend parted an integra out.

I would only have one question after today... DOES THE AIR CONDITIONER WORK????
:p

96-99 are the cleanest and best looking years of Civic, in my opinion.

AC works flawlessly, but with this little motor you notice it is on.

My A/C only works for 10 minutes a day, regardless of how many times I start the car, when I use it once, it's gone till tomorrow.

I literally just added refrigerant to the A/C, but I don't think it did anything. Fuck. It's supposed to be over 100 tomorrow

Picked up a 2011 Mazda3 Sport about a month ago. so far I'm VERY happy with it. Was chosing between a 2011 Jetta, 2011 Sentra SE-R or a 2011 Imprezza WRX. The Jetta was a resounding disappointment, wasnt crazy about the styling of the SE-R and the assholes at both subaru dealerships I went to soured me on that entire brand. Love the drive and feel of the M3 so far, and while part of me regrets cheaping out and not buying the MazdaSpeed, this is still a pretty fun platform. Next time perhaps

Only mods so far:

K&N Typhoon SRI

18x8 TSW Interlagos forged rims

Full dry CF interior kit

Katskinz leather seats - black w/ red stitching

future mods planned - Borla cat-back exhaust, Hella HID kit, Thule roof rack, BC Coilovers (or Eibach prokit springs w/ koni yellows - still cant decide), yellowed out fog lights. we'll see what else

Nice ride, tera! I like the seats... sharp looking car all around.

Don't be too disappointed about not getting the MazdaSpeed 3... torque steer on that little brute is like arm-wrestling a gorilla. It's a hell of a lot faster, but you get about the same driving dynamics in the 3 sport hatch without having to worry about your arm snapping off at the elbow.
