Since the thread's bumped anyway, here's my new ride. $500, daily driver. Just rolled over 190k.

Shitty cell phone pictures, sorry.

Haven't driven in nearly a year because my cars are always shit, but I finally (with the help of my mom) got something decent. 1995 Ford Taurus SHO. Just under 170,000 miles, rust free minus a spot on the wheel well, and full maintenance records showing excellent maintenance.

Here is my money pit. It's been sitting a year because of a bad headgasket and timing belt. Nearly rust free,Upgraded to garrett turbo, +20% injectors, HKS RFL blow off valve, front mount intercooler. Was at 15 psi pulling about 290whp before the timing belt blew. Lack of funds forced me to put it on hiatus. Finally got it together, but won't fire because of some electrical drama. Probably because it's been sitting so long. Pics are 2 years old. Since then the bumper's taken some mild damage but otherwise the car's about the same.

Matt, nice cars, everything really.

Why would you put that much work into a POS dodge? though the SHO was a good choice.

Here's more of my volvo:

it's a great snow drifter and mountain mobile.

because nothing quite beats the expression on a mustang driver's face when you whoop their ass in a family car, all the while getting 30mpg highway. And they were turbo from the factory, so they're really easy to tune. That and there's not an easier motor to work on that I know of than the Chrysler K engine, and these cars are supported by a broad aftermarket of pretty much every part you'll need from transmission rebuilding to interior touch up. And they don't torque steer at all.

think of the 2.2L/2.5L OHC engine as like a Honda engine... they are plentiful, cheap, easy to make power and those that know them these crazy tricks and parts combinations to get retarded power out of them. King of the sleepers was the Dodge Spirit R/T

True that

that is still one of my favorite clips... that supra pilot had no idea what was in the other lane. I'm pretty sure that guy is still in Massachusetts, but I'm not sure if he's still into Turbo Dodges. I had emailed him a couple of times when I was on the Domestic Performance Board (going back to 2000) on what might've been wrong with my Daytona.

from everything I've heard on the turbo dodge boards, Gary Donovan has mostly dropped out of view and largely retired from tuning. No one's really heard from him in a while but he's presumed healthy and doing other hobbies.

I think there was a thread on Gary Donovan's whereabouts on the old pre-2006 Allpar fourms...basically he's alive and retired from anything with cars or something like that.

I've been thinking of buying a Dodge Sprit myself actually. My grandfather bought Dodge Dynasty brand new back in 1991; he loved that car and drove it to 200,000 miles all across the US before buying a Mercury Grand Marquis in 2001.

Probably went the way of all car guys, minus Herb McCandless. He turned 50 and had grandkids and stuff.

I just can't get past the old man styling of the Spirit with the nasty C pillar that drops straight down and that snout, even the R/T and Shelby models look kinda senior-esque. Always preferred the Shadow/Sundance, and even the Lancer/LeBaron sedan were kinda sporty in an odd way.

i had an 89 Shadow ES Turbo sedan... even thought it was rotten (BADLY) and had 150,000+ miles on it, you could still burn the tires through three gears laughing all the way. I always liked the look of the Shadow and the Dodge Lancer.

I very much like the styling of the Spirit. A wolf in sheep's clothing. But the Lebarons are dead sexy, and came with alot of interesting options, including a talking dashboard systems check. My favorite body style will probably always be the 87-89 Daytona though.

Nothing like an 80's Chrysler product telling you your door is ajar.
