Yeah when I was car shopping it was difficult to get away from the VW dash. its fantastic.
But then I remembered how often I had my mk4 and that got me away from it quick (but sometimes I miss it)

I had some Hyundai sedan once as a rental in my old job and there was these four very bright purple lights on the gauges that were driving me nuts the whole time driving it that I pulled over and put tape over them.

My boss wanted me to drop it off back at Enterprise with him the next day, so when I went inside to return it, I mentioned the purple lights and the counter girl goes "Purple? That doesn't make sense!" so she and one of the other reps behind the counter goes out to the car and were baffled. They ended up calling their vehicle support hotline and found out that I had defective LEDs! they were supposed to red!

Sam, At least go take a test drive in a Nissan Versa Hatchback with a manual transmission. I had a Versa as a rental car last winter in Harrisburg, PA and I didn't hate it. I actually kinda liked it. You'll definitely want the manual transmission however... I, too, am 6 foot though not quite as heavy. Just give it a try.

i'm not a fan of the way Nissan's styling is going. the Versa, to me, is ugly. Sorry, but thanks for the suggestion.

I don't know... do you have any idea how hard it is to shop for a car when there is really nothing that blows your skirt up for the amount of money you want to spend?

Yes, I'm doing the same thing.

Every car that I have a passing interest in starts at 5x my price and goes up from there... right up to the sky. yay.

I really hated the styling of the Versa sedan, but I had a black hatch... I was digging it by the end of the week. Also, the Mazda 3 comes highly recommended, but I've never driven one.

i just can't get over the way the Mazda looks... it's like driving the Happy Toyz truck from Maximum Overdrive.

who would've ever thought buying a car would be such a colossal pain in the ass?

Oh, I'm going to drive a Sonic this week or next week and post my thoughts. I hated the Cruze but I was pleasantly surprised by the Fiesta.

Say what you want about the Daewoos. I loved my Wave.

Excellent on gas even when I drove the s#!t out of it. And the only problem I had with it for the time was a release bearing.

if i do get rid of the Cobalt, i am going to miss it because the car really is a blast to drive fast.
it's just having to put it away every november and then break it out of storage every April. Having to put tires on it every year because 18" performance tires suck for mileage. It's just a bunch of little bitches that make me want just ONE car.

If you owe what it's worth now, why not just out right sell the Cobalt & drive your winter beater year 'round? When the beater approaches the end of it's life, trade it in for something else.

I think I'd physically slap anyone who praised the Juke. That thing makes the Aztec look nearly tasteful.

That looks absolutely fantastic... I love that.

quotes from the girl:

"i love how no one can open the doors"

thats cuz the handles are up high for NO REASON

"yeah its fast its got twin turbos"

no. just one. the other thing is called an alternator.

"its fast i go over 100 all the time"

my aveo went over 100.

"it looks so cute"

my hedgehog looks cute.

all i know is im glad im not her friend cuz shed piss me off if i ever had to drive with her.

too big to be a hatch, too small to be an suv.

thank you

i kinda like the idea of the sonic. but i feel like chevy was like

well fiats in america now. and theres that 500 abarth with a 1.4 turbo.
lets make an aveo 500 abarth and call it a sonic.

some girl at my school has a new blue sonic. i really want to reference sega with it.
