I'd change "tell the truth" to "don't lie"
|
I'd change the "don't lie" to "don't admit to anything" and acknowledge that fact while speaking to the officer in question, they like the honesty. "How far did you go?" "The edge of the fence." "We know you were farther than that." "Ok well then we went farther than that, then." "how long ago?" "what time is it? "You don't know what time it is?" "No? christ we've been wandering around swamps for hours lost" "Ok guys. We know you were ______, why give us the run around? Why not just admit to it?" "Well if you knew we were there why give us the run around? I'm not going to admit to anything more than you already know." and I still walked away from that one.

| | | To start: i'm a teenager, so cops already hate me. Also i have long hair and i wear hoodies, so they hate me more. I've talked myself out of getting arrested/fined 5 times, even though i totally deserved it. All it takes is making yourself look like a nice person. Shake their hands and stuff. Act like you're meeting your girlfriend's parents for the first time. In three of these cases, i've ended up talking to them about school, video games, or my hobbies. None of these cases had to do with ue-ing, however. I've almost been caught urbexing 3 or 4 times. But really, you have no excuse to ever be caught by the police. If you've reconed the area well enough, you didn't vandalize or break anything, and you aren't loud, no one will see or hear you. Staying inside the building your exploring helps too. Cops can't see through walls. Just knowing the building i was exploring (both historically and physically) has gotten me out of 1 or 2 of these messes. But if you do get caught, don't lie, don't give up more information than you have to, and make friends.

I would suggest that the longer you keep at it, the higher the probability you'll eventually just fall foul of bad luck or unfortunate timing, no matter how careful you might be.

I agree with you on this one. You could model your chances of arrest fairly simply. arrest chance = A/B ... A is the number of illegal things you're doing times their severity. B is your preparedness/skill. So obviously your chances of getting caught speeding aren't very high, and similarly if you've done your research about a location your chances of getting caught are not large.

I'd have to agree. You will eventually get in a sticky situation. I live in a big town with few cops, and the places I pick to UE are out-of-the-way places. I keep a non-existent profile, but you will eventually have run in. Normally it's just by chance, but always use your intuition or your 'gut feeling', and never let your guard down.
Behind every mistake, there is a lesson. I'm just not that great at learning them! |

Fireworks aren't a bad distraction if you have enough canon fuse and can set them off on one end of the property and exit on the opposite side.
99% of the time being stealthy is preferable to being outlandish.

| | | yes, being stealthy is the best option.. but IF for some reason, you are compromised, being outlandish, and using pyrotechnics, get the adrenaline pumping and is far more fun ive never tried it to run away from authority, but i have used pyrotechnics as distractions for fun

parked? car? xD k-9 teams aren't that efficient either, just keep your ass moving, they track slower than you jog. And with all the adrenaline you can jog a mile or two through adverse (to tracking) terrain... god I was wiped out after that experience with 9 squad cars and a dog team.... Temporarily abandoned shit can really get people pissed....
