Carrying water during a long exploration is a must.
Where do you carry yours? Plain plastic bottle or do you have a better suggestion for a container?

old U.S. Army metal, I think from either WWII or Korean war era. It makes all the water taste GOOD!

usually 2 of the greatland brand nalgene-style water bottles from target. In the sports dept, and they're $4 each... and they come with the sippy insert so you don't have to spill all your water when drinking from a big mouth!

Me goin' legit would be like JarJar on speech therapy.

Nothing special, I just use just plain old plastic nalgene knockoffs. Camelbacks are nice though, and would be highly practical for the long trips.
I'd avoid metal water bottles, they tend to be clanky and loud. Then again, if sneakiness isn't an issue, they're pretty much indestructible.

Personal opinion: nothing screams "Yuppie" like a water bottle splash guard. If you can't even drink out of a water bottle without soaking yourself, urban exploration is going to really tax your (in)abilities.

Hahaha they are really lame, I know, but on the plus side they do also keep random crap out of your water, which is why I use them when exploring. I've had near misses with pigeon poop entering my water bottle while on bike rides.

Thanks - seemingly those haven't made it big in Australia. How sad.

Normal plastic bottles. The ones i buy the water in. I always have one large bottle of carbonated water for drinking and one smaller bottle with normal water for cleaning (eyes, hands, wounds, ...) or drinking in case the other water runs out.

I have a camel back bladders in my backpack and if for whatever reason that isn't enough then I bring two of the larger wide mouth nalgene bottles that attach to my bag as well

I always make sure to have a water bottle that has a protected mouthpiece. I don't want to drink off of a mouthpiece that has been exposed to the dust, dirt and grime that I come in contact with. Pretty much anything with a twist off lid, made of non-PP plastic will do for me.

Sometimes I wonder if my obsession with flashlights led to my interest in Urban Exploration, or conversely, if my
interest in exploration led to my flashlight obsession

lets see...normally i would down an energy drink or two before going exploring to keep me on my toes and maybe a tab energy in a plastic water bottle for later, but i usually bring a big waterbottle for drinking and a smaller waterbottle in case my water runs out or to clean my hands/cuts/thirst
