Of course no where in the bible does is say to kill witches, or start wars with people who wont except God.

Exodus 22:18
Deut. 18:10-11

“We are not going to have the kind of cooperation we need if everyone insists on their own narrow version of reality. … the great divide in the world today … is between people who have the courage to listen and those who are convinced that they already know it all.”

Exodus 22:18
Deut. 18:10-11

In your defense that verse in Exodus is hard to understand. It means punish someone with death who has cursed someone else. An eye for an eye type thing. According to research into that passage, a sorceress is someone who is known to have condemned someone to death. Something more or less lost in translation, especially due to King Jamee's bias towards hating witches.

And Deuteronomy is saying not to associate with those types of people.

Doesn't the KJV say "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live?" Here's a link to some research into that topic:

It doesn't really matter what any english Bible says. You would have to read the texts in Hebrew and Greek to get the full meaning, and then take into account that the books that make up the bible were chosen for political reasons, and was clearly it was all a fucked up mistake anyway, since they also adopted the idiotic idea of the Trinity, which has no correlation to anything.

But, thats not important here. Not a mosque. Not ground zero. Not wrong.

Wrong is opposing religious freedom. Freedom. FREEDOM.

Oh yes, thats what the King James version says... I havent really looked into that much, I really dont care to actually.

This is a good example of the source http://www.solidst...lyorg/exodus22.htm

Regardless. I think we are straying away from the original point.

Of course the bigger problem with a mosque in manhattan is the loss of property and B&O taxes. Since it doesn't have to pay any...

But look at it this way, it could be worse. Could be another Scientology "church" instead.

A significant problem is that people like this keep claiming (look earlier in the thread for evidence) that their freedom is being impinged because they aren't allowed to force other people to follow their beliefs.

If Christians cant convert you, then oh well, the blood is off their hands. If muslims cant convert you, better hope you are immuned to explosions. And no, thats not speaking for all muslims, but it is at the core of their belief system and is obviously practiced, jihad anyone?

For someone who despises religion, you sure are apparently adamant about letting them build a mosque of one of the most questionable religions out there.

Yes, this is a problem. Though in his defence (can't belive I'm doing that) the religion he's all hacked off about is currently running a bunch of countries under their version of a legal system. They do kill their own for leaving the faith, and non-believers for preaching in favor of other faiths. Being a woman, homosexual, or infidel in a country under Sharia law is hazardous to your health. The christians did it for centuries too, and it was as fucked up then as it is when muslims do it now. Forcing your bullshit, unsupportable belief system on people is wrong no matter which invisible friend secret club handbook you use to do it.

Have you considered that there would be almost no difference between a country operating under Old Testament biblical law and one operating under Sharia? Just throwing that out there...

Honestly, I'm starting to think that religion isn't the culprit for this shit. I think it's just human nature.

No, he's right.

Of course christians have also practiced convert-or-die on more than one occasion. They just aren't doing it right now with the frequency muslims are in some areas.

Made up by humans to be used against other humans so they would do what the leaders of the humans wanted them to do. That's religion in a nutshell.

Right. It's politics. This is obviously a complete non-issue that no thinking person could in any way be opposed to, but political scumbags wearing religious sheepskins have been milking it up for political and personal gain, using their subservient and brainwashed minions to stir up a well spring of hatred and evil.

It's exactly the same for the Muslims.

Some Mormon sects have done so. Read Jon Krakauer's book Under the Banner of Heaven for more details.

There is also a controversy about the building of a mosque in Murfreesboro. NPR did a story about it last night.

They carried signs that read, "Enough Is Enough" and "Stop Terrorism."

Another woman yelled out, "Have you forgotten the twin towers?"

Holy shit.

Yes. Maybe you are starting to understand my point of view here.

Call me what ever you want, but these muslims do not have good intentions for america. And the ones who say/believe they dont hate christians, or that their god is different, well they are deceived in their own beliefs.

Fine, build a mosque, just not there or anywhere close. The fact that muslims are getting so defensive about not being able to build there should be a BIG clue that they want control, and when they cant have it, they get angry. Their extremists destroy our city, and we allow them to build a mosque uplifting that same religion that hates america/christians. What kind of message would that say?
