Lawlz. I went through that stage when I was 13. I tried to summon the spirit of Kurt Cobain in my parent's basement and got so freaked out that I threw away the book I had and never touched the stuff again.

Haha! what book did you use?

Oh I have no idea. That was like 15 years ago- just some book of Wiccan B.S. I found at Barnes and Noble.

Pagan technically just means many gods right?

Not really, that is polytheism. Paganism as defined by the church is any non-Abrahamic religion, but it is implied that it means pre-christian European religions which are dead. There isn't all that much known for sure about those groups.

Lol I wish this was just a stereotype. Last time I visited the new age section at B&N there was a small group of 13 year olds wearing slipknot shirts, huge pentagrams, heavy black eyeliner, and talking about summoning demons from the necronomicon. I'm not even exaggerating.

lawlz!!

should ask 'em how obtaining that copy of the necromicon is coming along ;D

Wait, isn't that a book that H.P. Lovecraft made up for some of his stories and was used in The Evil Dead? Or am I thinking of something else?

yup!!! you just won awesome points.

Back in the day, university students would put fraudulent card in the catalog for the Necromicon at their university as a hoax

Yep! The one in the Evil Dead series was actually the Necronomicon ex Mortis, though. Influenced by HPL, but not the same. (big fan of both)

I used to work in a bookstore, and it was funny to get the teens who would come in and want to special order the Necro or the Satanic Bible. When they came in we'd call, and if the machine answered we'd say "Bobby, your copy of the Satanic Bible is ready to be picked up!" Strangely, a lot of times they wouldn't come back. I assume mommy found out and nipped that in the bud!

lol. Which one? There have been several attempts to "translate" it, but it seems to me that it would take all the fun out of the Mythos to read some lame dude's made-up version from the 1970's.

I did some research to try and figure out what I am. The closest thing I have found is Unitarian. Its not exactly, but its the closest i can find.

My wife and I were looking stuff up about it on Wikipedia today, we have now committed to it. It's pretty neat. If you get a chance read the wiki on it.

Then you are far more educated in it than I am. I have just read the wiki and a couple of other things about it. If we end up exploring this weekend I will have to ask you a couple of questions about it.
