Buckland's... interesting. I'm not entirely sure that I'd apply the term "Wicca" to his Seax tradition, like he does, but he WAS initiated and did have access to the mysteries. I won't deny his right to call it Wicca, it just seems strange that the two have so little in common. His writings on Wicca in general, though, are pretty cool. I'm pretty much a purist, so I tend to look upon any non-initiate writing on Wicca as most likely a Fluffy, and don't believe everything even from the initiates.

Look up stuff on Paganism in general. Wicca has only been around for a few decades and took everything from pagan religions. (Much like christianity, but that's a whole other story...) I quite like Dion Fortune's work, though it's slightly more leaned toward ceremonial.

I used to be into wicca when I was like 13, but got bored with it. I found the deeper you search into the occult, the more fascinating it gets. You won't find the good stuff at Barnes & Noble. Well, not very often.

I find a lot of occult stuff really silly. Well, mostly the more recent stuff. Aleister Croweley - with the exception of works on Wicca - is about as modern as I get. I actually wrote an adventure for the role-playing game Call of Cthulhu based on the 1804 occult book The Magus.

99% of the recent stuff is crap. The only reason that 1% isn't is because sometimes you can find something decent in the bibliography. Look into Blavatsky.

DUDE! And Aleister Crowley is not silly? Have your read his poetry? HAVE YOU READ HIS POETRY!? He's worse than Tolkien. The thing about the "occult" is that it is derivative. Everything written today, has already been written by someone else thousands of years earlier. Even AC and Blavatsky are derivative.
