You really don't get where he is coming from.

I hate to invoke Godwin here but. . .

Let's say you are Jewish, Wouldn't you have nothing but vile things to say about Nazis?

It is the same here.

I suppose I don't. If he took the time to actually explain why he hates Christians so much, maybe I would.

I can't really say that's a fair example. It assumes that all Jews are unforgiving towards their enemies. AFAIK, Christians have not really done anything hostile towards atheists, anti-Christians, or other antagonistic groups, whether the aforementioned groups were against the Christian faith itself or religion as a whole.

The dude identifies as homosexual. What does the Vatican have to say about Homosexuality?

Also. "Former" enemies? What the BS is that!? I'm not talking Germany. If someone identifies as a Nazi, with all the beliefs and hatreds that come from it, why wouldn't someone of the Jewish faith be hateful?

Sam is very clear on his views and why he believes what he does.

Also, I'm pretty sure people don't look at Nazis as former enemies. Seeing as they are responsible the kill of 6 million jews and several million of other races, plus there are still people alive who survived it. The wounds are still pretty fresh.

See, herein lies the problem. Some people, such as the one above, feel the need to insult religions instead of even attempting to argue civilly about them.

Samurai, if you don't want shit to hit the fan, at least make an effort to respect people's beliefs, So far we've respected yours.

sorry, but you joined the conversation late... i have nothing but disgust for all forms of religion.

It is only in the marital relationship that the use of the sexual faculty can be morally good. A person engaging in homosexual behaviour therefore acts immorally.

Marriage, yet another ancient pre-Christian practice that Catholicism claimed and subjugated... and then used as their basis to condemn other even more ancient practices.

Posted by The Vatican
As in every moral disorder, homosexual activity prevents one's own fulfillment and happiness by acting contrary to the creative wisdom of God.

See, this statement is awesome, since it is an exact mirror of what is being said in this thread.
As with every religious delusion, belief in God prevents one's own fulfillment and happiness by acting contrary to the self evident nature of the universe.

Posted by The Vatican
But the proper reaction to crimes committed against homosexual persons should not be to claim that the homosexual condition is not disordered.

So, the proper reaction to crimes committed against homosexual persons should be to claim that homosexuals are aberrant. Check.

Posted by The Vatican
When such a claim is made and when homosexual activity is consequently condoned, or when civil legislation is introduced to protect behavior to which no one has any conceivable right, neither the Church nor society at large should be surprised when other distorted notions and practices gain ground, and irrational and violent reactions increase.

I love how this essentially establishes theocracy. No one has any conceivable right. So. Awesome. And of course, it leads to dogs and cats living together.

Posted by The Vatican
Here, the Church's wise moral tradition is necessary since it warns against generalizations in judging individual cases.... What is at all costs to be avoided is the unfounded and demeaning assumption that the sexual behaviour of homosexual persons is always and totally compulsive and therefore inculpable. What is essential is that the fundamental liberty which characterizes the human person and gives him his dignity be recognized as belonging to the homosexual person as well.

I love this.
Generalization is bad, m'kay? So, even if in some cases a fag can't help being a fag, you can't say that fags are born fags.
And then this is fucking delicious...
We respect fags so much that we insist that fags have the ability to choose to not be fags.
When was the last time one of the people who wrote this document choose not to be straight?..... Oh wait, these were Catholic clergy writing this?.... Awkward.

Posted by The Vatican
No authentic pastoral programme will include organizations in which homosexual persons associate with each other without clearly stating that homosexual activity is immoral.

So much fun! "Hello fag, you're going to hell!" "You too!"

What is being said is this:

Homosexuality is against god. That only sex with someone you are married to with the goal of procreation is okay. To act out violently to a Homosexual is wrong. But that it is disorder and a "cross", that one must bare. So in essence, the Vatican says that homosexuals are faulty. Inferior one could say.

So if anyone else wants to jump on Sams case about being intolerant, I'll just remind you that the church doesn't look at him as an equal. To be an equal, he would have to stuff everything that is inside him.

I don't tolerate intolerance.
