| | | Posted by kabiff The biggest problem that I've seen on the BSS campus is that some entity has been going around and caulking the doors, which makes it rather difficult to try some doors which had been at one point presumably much easier to open.
|
That entity must've left their caulk gun lying about for me to step on then...

| | | I just found this after i moved out of MA. I have been going to Belchertown for years and nobody ever wanted to go with me so I would either go by myself or drag my boyfriend who was convinced we were going to die or get arrested so I got sick of bringing him. Too bad I just moved. I will have to see if any of you are going the next time I head back east for a visit. I am surprised I never ran into any of you, at least that I know of! These are some of the pictures I have from the last time I brought him. Obviously he only wanted to go into one building. http://www.flickr....72157624554982552/ [last edit 8/10/2010 8:40 PM by megaroni45 - edited 1 times]

I went down to the Seaside Regional Center in Waterford and found a way in the other day. Only thing is too many people were around because of the ocean and nice weather. Would be worth a look. It's listed in the DB.
|
I've been meaning to check that place out, but I haven't gotten around to it.

| | | Posted by geoff5093 It may be different for others (and I know it is for at least one person in particular ;)), but if I am with at least one other person, I am not spooked out by anything in an abandonment, now if I'm by myself I get spooked walking around inside the school I work at during the night!
|
Haha I'm the same way, I work security at Dever and can't stand walking through those tunnels alone, but if another guard or one of my friends that lives nearby feels like going in I'll do some UE on company time. I think it's the idea that when there's someone with you there's someone to watch your back, but when you're alone if someone comes up behind you and you don't hear it you'll never notice them.

| | | So I was showing some people around and we went into the tunnels after walking through them for awhile I looked down a side tunnel and saw a light. Sure enough it was some more urbexers.

| | | Has anyone ever been in the building closest to the railroad tracks. I have been in the back part of it but there is no way to access the rest of the building through that portion, I have been in the basement and the only way up is via elevator that seems to be out of order. There is one board up door that has had the boards removed but still can't be opened, I hope someone can get this open. And if anyone does could you PM me? I really want to see inside that building.

Wow, you're a real gem. First you chide people for trespassing at the train yard in waterbury, now you're fucking begging other explorers to do your dirty work for you? Step your game up, junior. [last edit 8/18/2010 3:35 PM by Felonious Monk - edited 1 times]

There is a huge difference between an active railroad yard where volunteers for a non-profit society work on there free time to preserve railroad history, and a State owned abandonment. And I was not chiding I was simply advising against it.

Maybe to you but in case you seem to have forgotten this site is also about infiltration. As for the yards in waterbury only one of them is well maintained. The other one is adjacent to a rag tag industrial complex. It isn't even lit at night like its sister yards. To the casual observer there's nothing that doesn't make chase seem like a prime opportunity to clip the draw wire on the bottom of the fence slide in and document some beautiful trains. Hell even the lit and actively maintained yard to the north would be an easy target and it is even nicely illuminated for night shots. Just because you don't think it is an ethical location doesn't mean others feel the same way. Now, go ahead and carry on with finding someone to do your dirty work for you so you may continue your quest for moral superiority over the dregs of UER. I'll go with you, but I'm not a photographer, nor do I own a camera. I can climb, set anchors, pry doors/boards and hack locks. Soooooooooooo, our skill sets can work together. I'll do the dirty work (as Mister Monk [whom is also a felon] put it) and you take the pictures. I joined this site to meet other explorers around here, doesn't matter to me how the work is distributed Send me a pm.
