There was an Ecotec powered Sunfire running at ChumpCar last weekend. It was fairly quick. It did explode, but it was quick before that happened.

I'll give Sam some credit, those Eco tech seem to be pretty damn good little engines.

if one knew what they were doing, the 2.2L OHV engine was pretty good too. Those are the engines you have to run at Airborne.

Says he will take $1,200 for it. If a guy who says he is interested in my Buick comes thru I'm gonna jump on it. Tho this guy said he has had zero interest except for one guy who wanted to give him crush value.

WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would love to find one of those in even a gas engine... I have a particular love of the 84-85 Escort. My mom had an 85 and it's what I learned to drive on.

Dave, do you still have that Miata?

is it driveable?
and if it is, is it for sale?

there is a racing league here that races Miata's... a team runs out of North Country Subaru (used to be North Country Imports) in Glens Falls NY. They had a couple of fully prepped race cars for sale, but their asking price was almost like they didn't want to sell them after all.

Right, I talked to the guy working on it today.
He said there is some track 30 minutes from here, and they race cavalier/sunfires. Also he mentioned there is another league for Honda Civics.

I am working in New Brunswick now, so I have never seen this kind of stuff in Toronto before.

Things it needs, fuel pump, top, and that's about all to drive it. Personally I wasn't gonna bother with a top till winter. Is sell it but I'm $1200 into it. I'd let it got for a grand but likely will just keep it and fix it up into a track/weekender car.

DUKWs are pretty sweet. A LOT of damn work to keep them running though. They have a few hundred grease zerks and gear boxes that always seem to get water in them when you swim it.

And when they sink, they SINK. 0 to the bottom in a few seconds, they can be really dangerous if something goes wrong.

Heres a picture of ours when I was working on it a few months ago.

Then why do they use them for boat tours? We saw them in Pittsburgh a couple years ago, doing city tours cruising down the rivers. It seems like if that was an issue, there'd be too much liability involved in taking passengers. Unless they had inflatable floats on them in case of problems.
