This was designed by the same guy who designed the PT Cruiser and was targeted to the same market as those who buy the PT. HHR stood for "Heritage High Roof" and it was supposed to look like one of the old Chevy panel vans. Personally, after driving one, I don't think they did too bad of a job with the vehicle. It was based on the Delta platform (Cobalt-G5/Solstice/Astra) and has excellent interior room, decent power and excellent utility.

Personally, I am ABSOLUTELY FUCKING AMAZED that none of you went with this as the lead car in the 'ugliest car' category (especially all of you professional GM haters out there):

Sam, don't forget about optional tent that fits over the back hatch. Makes it even uglier!

To each their own, some aren't bad, like the Integra, but a lot of those cars pictured are hideous. I really think about 95% of the allure of cars like the hatchback civic are because other people will think you're cool because they have one. From a style standpoint it's really dead from the neck up. I believe it was Car and Driver that described that thing as "looking like a nerd's shoe".

Face it, a community that thinks having a rear spoiler on a FWD car of any sort that isn't traveling at speeds over 120 MPH constantly really can't be THAT into cars as much as they are into "looks".

Also, if I hear another kid call their car a "hatchy", I will slap the overpriced, oversized, and straight-billed baseball hat off their head, rip their XXXXXXXXXXXL T-shirt off, wipe my ass with it, then start kicking the crap out of them with a shod foot.

Cliff's notes: Stying any car after a computer mouse = FAIL.

This is really the grand poobah for me:

I just dooooon't understand it. The tC is sort of okay looking, but too many people that buy them try to make the car into something it's not. Usually some kid with a blowout thinking he's a badass for adhering to a "me too!" marketing campaign.

Honorable mentions go to these vans:

The new Tundra- we had one of these in extended cab form, for a rental over a month, while it had a lot of nice attributes to it, a lot of the interior parts felt cheap for a Toyota, the rear door handles don't fit with the rest of the truck and a lot of other things just seemed freakin' weird. It looks like Little Tikes designed it, it's all bloated looking. At least the regular cab one and the crew cab are better looking.

Now that I think of it a lot of Yotas have terrible styling, the last few Camrys were very ungainly, with the last generation appearing to have dinky wheels and tires because of where they were placed on the body. An about face from the 80s Toyota trucks, which I love. And of course you have the Scions, etc.

This thing.

Honda Odysseys.

At first they don't bother me, but if I stare long enough at one, it makes me realize the owner probably can't drive, and is doing either one of two things: Going the speed limit in the left lane, or tailgating you on a cell phone when there are 4 car lengths in front of YOUR car behind the one ahead of you. Yeah, like I'm going to go faster. Have fun when I brake check you.

The Audi Q7

Another one that's not too bad looking, but from the rear diagonal view it's gross in appearance for some reason, and since I think the new A5 is one of the best looking cars out there, it makes the Q7 look like shit.

Acura TSX

Ok, just...WTF!
The last TSX wasn't a bad looking car at all. It was Bimmer-esque, in a good way.

Then they do this:

That seriously looks like someone kicked an English Bulldog in the face for shitting on an oriental rug. What the hell is with the grille? Seriously!

I could go on with ones I hate worse but I'm tired and it's taking me a while to dig these pics up. haha

I hate these too. Because I liked the RWD ones so much better. They are kind of awkward looking cars, and most had that crap HT4100 engine that warped to hell and blew headgaskets. At least later on they elongated the look of the car to help with the appearance and also revised the engine to the 4.5 (I think), I'm fairly sure those engines were relatively trouble free.

We had an 80 Coupe Deville which I loved, it was just like this one but dark blue.

I once heard someone refer to the grille of that car as "the smile a twink makes when getting rimmed."

The same can be said for most people who are into Civic hatches though!

Myself, I like all sorts of different things too.

that's a pretty arrogant statement considering the company you're with.
