i hate cobalt's. i think they are hideous and i have yet to meet an owner that realizes their car isn't faster than a rocket ship and doesn't brag about how sweet their cobalt is.

i also have yet to see one that isn't ugly as fuck.

someone enlighten me? is there something i'm missing? maybe i missed a memo or i'm just an idiot?

edit: i just googled chevy cobalt ss, and saw a few that were okay, if your into that style. but i still have never seen a good looking one on the street.

drive one, then talk intelligently about it.
it's not a Cavalier, it's well put together, it runs like it swallowed a V8 and it handles as if it was possessed by a European Touring car.

see, i actually like how yours looks. it doesnt look like the 19 year old dipshit owner is trying to make their car look like a skyline. it actually looks like an american car, which i like. as i said, i've never driven one, so my basis is all from the owners i've met and the cars i've seen.

i was going with a Chevrolet heritage theme with my car... the stripes are patterned after a 69 Camaro SS... i was going to change the SS emblems back to the old style found on the 69 model, but am not sure.
I really do recommend you go to a Chevrolet dealer and either drive a used SS/SC or take the new SS/TC for a ride. You don't realize how well these cars are built, how fantastic they run or how devastating they drive. The TC set a FWD record around the Nurburgring and in 2006, a supercharged SS killed everyone in a time attack challenge, yes, Skyline included.

and by the way, that year/model Fiero was such a sexy car! There wasn't a bad line on it.

Agreed.

Another one I got reminded of today, the generation 1 Oldsmobile Aurora. Looks like a sad melted old man. It didn't improve much over the years, but nothing touches just how bad the first one was.

My mom just totaled a late model Chevy Caviler. She took a corner too hard and rolled it. Shes sore and bruised up but not badly hurt. For the piece of shit that it was and the fact it ended up upside down in a chain link fence the passenger compartment survived the wreck almost completely intact.

I never liked driving it though, it always had a scary front end bounce at highway speeds.

the aurora was what put the final nail in the coffin of oldsmobile. It was overengineered and had questionable design cues. However, the Aurora V8 was quite the powerplant. However, it was undeveloped and disappeared when Oldsmobile was summarily shitcanned.

Now, with the Cavalier, it sounds like the car had front end issues to being with. Almost sounds like a broken spring or blown strut if it had a weird highway speed bounce. As I said, i had 9 Cavaliers and 3 3rd Generations... all were stable and high speed. In fact, they were stable at speeds over 120.

contrary to what the the crash weenies say, the J-body holds together extremely well in hardcore collisions/mishaps. Glad your mother is alright. My friend Willys' aunt totalled a 94 Cavalier by hitting a culvert at 65mph (she was run off the road by a drunk driver). The car went end for end several times and she walked away from it with a bruised ankle and a couple of scratches from flying glass.

Much like the old Adam West batman logo, it looks like the Aveo's Chevy badge is sliding down it's front.

i am going to get dogpiled on about the next part of this comment, but the Aveo isn't a bad little car for being designed by Daewoo. It's not a performance car. Get that part straight. It's a tiny four passenger people mover designed to sip gas. It does that well. A girl i used to know had an avacado green first generation Aveo. I had to borrow it one day and honestly, it wasn't that bad of a car. It pulled the hills here reasonably and was pretty damn good on gas, especially for having a tiny ass tank. It definitely beat the Yaris my mom's friend has... they have had nothing but trouble with theirs. How very un-Toyota like... There's a bad apple in every lot. Anyways, you don't buy a car like this, in this price range to have a fucking Bentley, It's a cheap car.

I really don't know much about it's ride or performance, I was just saying the the current generations grill either had to many or not enough redesigns.

If the 90's was bad... good thing neither of us had to live in the 80's huh?

And these were the BEST.

I'd have been buying decade(s) old cars for sure.
