Porsche 924

924? Is that an accomplishment?

LMAO, hey whatever trips your trigger Sam, I knew a rant would ensue.

I agree with Knuckle. The Fiero, Citation and the 928 were ugly as sin, regardless of how well they ran and/or handled.

To this debacle of butthurt I add:

Thank goodness it was a limited edition.

in 1981, the Porsche 924 was the gold standard in affordable sports car technology. See you aren't looking at this through the lense of the period. By todays standards, the Porsche 924,928 and 944 are a joke as is the Ferrari 308GT of the same period. Still, these cars were $25,000+ and represented what Europeans knew about sports cars.
By 1981 standards, being able to blow away a 924 in a dragrace WAS an achievement.

My brother owns a 2002 Monte Carlo LS and I own a 99 Monte Carlo LS as well.
when i first saw the car in 2000, i felt that they had tried to cram too many styling cues into one car. By now, the end of the design cycle, it's actually a pleasant car to look at and has the muscle to back up the heritage.

Oh most definitely. It is only the limited edition that I dislike. It was so tacky.

It is... although it looks like every other low-buck sports car of the late 70's/early 80's... it was the first car to look like that, and most cars copied that design.

The engine in the front/transaxle in the rear design the 924 featured didn't appear in the Corvette till recently.

Not the greatest Porsche by any means, and definitely not the most attractive, but they have a few positive points.

And the 928 was the sex... aluminum bodied V8 sports car? Fuck yeah!!

That hot pink R/T Challenger is just rockin' it up there. I'd drive it, you know... 'cause f**k 'em.

My mom had a Fiero, bought in new in '86 she probably kept it 10 or 11 years, all in all not a bad little car.

Slight side-topic not worth its own thread: Are convertibles effeminate cars?

I feel like most new convertibles are targeted at the female 25-45 demographic much more than men, as they used to be. Coupes, on the other hand, are targeted much more toward men now.

Other takes on this?

I agree. Almost all of the new convertibles are targeted at females. This seems to have been going on for approximately 10 years now.

I'm not sure about the Yaris being on that list, either. It's a generically dull looking thing to my eye, but I wouldn't have said it was all that ugly.

i hate cobalt's. i think they are hideous and i have yet to meet an owner that realizes their car isn't faster than a rocket ship and doesn't brag about how sweet their cobalt is.

i also have yet to see one that isn't ugly as fuck.

someone enlighten me? is there something i'm missing? maybe i missed a memo or i'm just an idiot?

edit: i just googled chevy cobalt ss, and saw a few that were okay, if your into that style. but i still have never seen a good looking one on the street.
