Hello and welcome to the Urbana Drains web site, brought to you by the Drain Dudes.

This website is intended to give you a �virtual tour� through most of Urbana�s drains. It is not intended to encourage you to explore drains, but rather to show you what is down there so you can discover drains from the safety of your very own computer (or maybe a friend�s computer, or even the computer at uni or the local library).

The practice of exploring drains is risky, dangerous and can lead to injury and even death if you don�t know what you are doing. Thus we strongly discourage you from entering any drain, in Urbana or any where else. Note that in many places drain exploration is illegal.

We created this web site because there is very little accurate information out there about Urbana drains. We say �accurate� because while there is some information, it has been full of mistakes. The web site of the Cave Men, while inspirational to us, is full of errors, indicating drain entrances hundreds of metres off the mark and having information that makes you wonder if it was really the Cave Men who wrote up the site. No doubt though the Cave Men, Simon, Andrew, Patric, Tom and Mathew were big movers and shakers in the Urbana drain world, but they seem to have disappeared. Well Simon and Andrew seem to be around still, but they don't do much draining.
