First Radioshack-- Located in a newer, semi-upscale shopping center patronized mainly by rich, rude-ass yuppies. They'd come in carrying Louie Vuitton purses and brand-new Blackberries, driving brand-new Range Rovers or Jags, drinking a $5 Starbucks coffee... and then bitch mightily about our prices.

Second Radioshack -- Located in a decent section of town but once the 'Shack in the ghetto closed, we got many of their old customers. We suddenly saw our theft attempts spike and we'd get a ton of Hispanic customers who'd come in with 12 people, try to get signed up for phones with long-expired IDs, not speaking more than 6 words of English (they'd usually have to have one of the many people who followed them in translate for them), and have to touch, move, turn on/off, or open EVERYTHING. (and rarely ever bought. If they did, it would always get returned a week later with the packaging DESTROYED.)

Third Radioshack -- Located directly across from a Wal-Mart. Everyone would come over to us to ask a million questions only to go across the street and buy something. And of course, when it would break, guess who they'd go see?

Plus my manager at the last one was an absolute cunt. She would steal sales, change the schedule with little to no notice, and just in general act like a cranky dictator.

I had more or less the exact same experience, but only in one store. My first manager was incredible, but after he left we got a horrible (alcoholic too!) cunt who also stole my sales, had the store looking like a fucking disaster, and changed the schedule randomly with no notice. I fondly remember coming into work one day (I lived 45 minutes away at the time too) only to find out that she randomly took away my hours and gave them to someone else. Then one day she had to leave randomly because "the cops were after her", but she didn't leave me the key to the cage so I lost out on quite a lot of commission for lost phone sales. She was the straw that broke my patience with that job. I heard two other employees quit on her too. I also heard she ended up actually going to jail.

Anyways!

The thing that currently pisses me off is that some Jersey Shore type of show is going to be doing an episode that features our store. Publicity, fine, but fffffuuuu- I don't want to have to deal with those people

So, now I record commercials (voice overs) through a really fucking shady company.

1) They didn't pay me for the first month of work - claiming it was my "audition" phase. They got a free month's work out of me.
2) The company I work for was SUPPOSED to pay me based on the average number of voice overs I do per day. Now, they're only paying me based on the number of voice over "requests" I get. So, if I get ONE email with 10 scripts, it only counts as ONE request.

Then, last month, I recorded 200+ commercials. I got a check for $200, instead of the $700-$1000 I SHOULD have gotten (even playing by their rules). The math comes out to about $4 an hour. That's roughly HALF of minimum wage around here. Did I mention I use all MY own stuff for this? MY mic, mixer, internet, electricity, office space in my apartment, etc.

It's a total rip, but I live in the sticks and there's no competition for anything anywhere ever. I'm totally 100% poor without it, and I need whatever money I can get until I'm healthy enough to get desperate enough to go back to retail.


TL;DR: I have a shitty employer and I'm desperate for cash and too unhealthy to do something else more lucrative in exchange for my time. Like pimping or selling drugs to the community.

They made a mistake with payroll, knew they did it and never contacted me about it ahead of time. When I talk to them I get, "Oh yeah I figured you would be calling about that. I noticed it but it was to late." I ask as calm as I can why, if she knew about it how come she did not let me know so I could plan for it? The answer I get is "well..... why upset you for the whole week, what's done is done."

I had all I could do to just say Okay I see, goodbye.

my old work would do that as well, it wasn't union. just saying that a good place would take care of a problem like that right away.

It will be made right in the next check. Just about the same time I turn in my 2 weeks notice. I would rather work for tips and can the $18 an hour rather than to be made feel like a piece of shit.

So, I decide that I won't send a subordinate peon on a boring, routine trip of bringing documents from the installation where I work, to a reserve armory down town.

I'm wearing my CADPAT, beret, boots, you know, a regular uniform. I grab the box of documents, walk over to the subway station. (Which is the north end of the line station)

I jump on the subway, sit down, and wait for the long ride. Within a stop or two, have nappy haired, bearded, sloppy clothed, un-showered civilian hippies up in my face. Insulting me, calling a murderer, telling me my wage would be better spent on lower tuition (for philosophy or fine arts, no doubt) I have act professionally, I just whip out my gerber and needle nose pliers them to death, no matter how strong the urge. I just try my best to counter their misinformation, lies and plain abuse orally, for my whole train ride.

FUCK YOU CIVILIAN HIPPIES! You want to wear a burka? You like being allowed to shave? You want a helicopter to come get you when you capsize your sailboat? You want dozens of unused, unused buildings to explore and take chair photographs of?

THEN YOU FUCKING DEAL WITH US EXISTING. Further, keep in mind a Captain riding the subway does not set policy at a level of launching an expeditionary operation, so don't blame me for what you perceive as imperial warmongering. I went back to work Monday after being out for surgery. I had calmed down about them screwing up my paychecks and not being forewarned. After venting here and thinking that I should really just keep looking for a new job and not be foolish about it I returned to work with a good attitude. Tuesday night a posting goes up about a plant wide meeting a 7:30 am Thursday. It was unsigned, not dated and with out a subject.

They just announced that we will be completely shut down as of May 10th, 2012. Another 180 out of a job in Rochester NY.

When people don't do their job correctly (or at all) just because one of their coworkers is a lazy shit. One of the most obnoxious excuses in the world.

So get this, some guy is standing there holding his dick, urine probably splattering on his hand, and he's jamming his fingers into his nose and biting his fingernails - probably in that order. I hate people!

IDIOTS that leave the locking differential in an off road vehicle, that is parked on nice, high quality asphalt, in the locked setting... I can hear the sound of things bending and snapping as I shove it into lo-lo and let that diesel torque tear the thing up.

I thought it was the girls rooms that were the worst. There was a note on the guys room door where I work regarding dirty hand towels on the floor and snot rockets on the walls to.

Once I was cleaning water fountain at work ( I work maintenance in a university ) I had stuff all around and my cleaning buggy was kind of blocking the way.So this young hippie comes over and start using one as I was cleaning it.I am like « Hey, I'm working on them now,you know » and he's like « Yeah so what » so I told him « Oh, well nothing.It's just that I use a powerful degreasant that can be harmful to health.I sprayed some all over.But if that doesn't bother you..» he stopped drinking,made big eyes and he was on his way.Hahaha fucker !

I work in a 100 year old hospital and I am getting pretty sick and tired of the elevators breaking down every fucking day, sometimes twice or thrice a day.

It is getting really old.
