Talking to my managers at work is like talking to a wall only the wall wouldn't give me a dear-in-the-headlights look and walk away when told an important piece of information.

Late people! I was going to go take 3 co-workers out to buy (pay for!) them to get a new, decent spec laptop to work with at home, since it was before work...so far no one shows...despite my willingness to drop like $1500.00 each on em!

One just called, but said she is too tired to head out right yet... Jesus christ, this is the army! and its only 7am! and its a free computer!

Conflicting reports of shit...

Something was posted yesterday in the control room in the building I'm working in for the week. It said I was supposed to report back to my regular job on Friday night, for 11-7 shift.

Well, this morning after a couple phone calls, I find out that it's not true. I'm not going back to my normal department and job until at least Monday, possibly later if they don't get things back running asap.

It's not that the power plant is a bad place...well, on second thought, it's a fucking shithole that's full of danger and dirt and not a place I'd like to spend a lot of time.

It isn't the people either, I'm working with a great bunch of people, it's the environment. It's awful and I just wanna go back to my own dump, where I know everything that can hurt me and how to avoid it. Here...I have no idea where to start, even though I went through the training before I reported to work.

I just wanna go home.

Something made me sick.

My step dad says it was salt cake in the plant, but I'm not so sure. I spent the day before yesterday playing in the black liquor.

I don't know if it's the overtime I had to work or the environment, but something gave me a cold from hell. I've been up every hour on the hour all night long, mostly because I've been drinking as much as I can stand, trying to feel better.

This fucking sucks.

I get what I want, I get sick. I go back to my own job and crew Saturday night. Also ordered that bracelet I had my eye on that I wouldn't have been able to get without the overtime.

I just wish I felt better.

Well... apparently some skank decided she had to masturbate in the dressing room of our store. My boss seems to think this is perfectly acceptable and more or less let her do it. I find it vile.

One of my freelancers just quit, due to an illness and her Dr told her to take 6mths stress leave. She leaves behind two unfinished, and probably disastrous projects, for me to find a quick and suitable replacement.

Craigslist people make my head hurt. It multiplies when you do this for your job. (I work for a company that gets stuff from various places then we resell it.) You haven't even LOOKED at the fucking mower and you are offering half of what I listed it for? It's not like it's old and busted either! It's a 2008 John Deere.

Fucking morons. It says "Price Firm" and "No Low-Ballers" in the fucking ad.

I am feeling quite insulted. It has been brought to my attention that there may be some homophobia and biphobia present among some of my subordinates. Why I feel insulted? The memo is implying that I am to blame, that I may be turning a blind eye to this kind of kind of behaviour. I am not, and I would never, ever allow this if I knew of it. I just pissed anyone would imply that I would. The only type of discrimination I allow or encourage is stupidphobia, and don't think anyone would slag on me too hard for trying my best to oppress stupidness. I will look into the homo/biphobia, but I am still pissed about the manner it was brought to my attention.

In the last few months, my group has been forced to share a floor with the new hires for the Sales team. I went from a relatively quiet work environment to feeling like I'm trying to work in the middle of a frat house.

I have endured the endless conversations at none-too-subtle-a-volume about whether or not one of the guys "hit that" at the bar last night, the constant bouncing of stress balls against the walls out of boredom (which inevitably end up straying off course and hitting other people), the tossing of a football at a height barely skimming the top of my head while I'm walking back from the breakroom with a hot beverage in hand, the play fighting in the aisles, and so many other annoyances to which we've all been told "get used to it."

I have tolerated this behavior because, for the most part, it didn't affect me and I'm relatively decent at ignoring a good bit of distractions and focusing on my work. But today... the idiots decided to play with a laser pointer, which flashed in my eye causing it to water and redden, and feel like I somehow managed to get a major sunburn on my eyeball. I had to pay $50 out of my own pocket to see my optometrist and lose two hours of work because of this idiot's shenanigans.

To top that off, the guy pretends to be concerned about me and follows me to the elevator as I'm rushing off to have my eye checked out so he could let me know that he didn't do it intentionally. I tell him that I'm sure he didn't mean to do it, but we should all really act like responsible adults in the workplace. Then the elevator arrived and he asked if he could ride down with me to make sure that I was okay. So he hops in, and rather than making sure I'm okay, he starts laying a guilt trip on me about how he's a family man and he can't afford to lose his job, etc. All I could think was, "You've got a lot of fucking nerve to come plead your case to me when I could have permanent damage to my vision."

Fucking immature, irresponsible jackasses at the work place really piss me off.

Horseplay, plain and simple. You have a good case for some serious financial restitution even with a full recovery. Not only was the behavior not appropriate but you comments about "get used to it" indicate that management condoned the behavior. I would not pay 1 red cent for treatment! Talk to an attorney ASAP and document everything.

today, I am annoyed with people who spend all day customising EMACS, writing code for open source software (not that that is a bad thing, just, doing at work is the wrong time to do it) and of all things, writing their own language instead of doing what we are suppose to be doing... (actually, leaving it to me do)

I am sorry, but when we have a huge project to do that is running late, you can put your damn EMACS mode on hold and use it in standard config, you can write hobby code at home, and DAMNIT, no one wants or needs another grad student to write yet another useless Lisp variant. Get the fuck to work already!

...sorry, but I am STILL at work doing stuff because of everyone else slacking.

For the record, I use vi mainly, and sometimes kick it Ken style and use ed.

Well, it's nobody's fault but I get to change working crews on Monday. I get to go to a crew I fucking loathe. There are nothing but lazy asses on the line and in the back of the fucking room. Sure, it's more money and a move up for me, but god damn it, I get stuck with a lazy fuck who barely does his fucking job because someone above me ended up having open heart surgery.

I'm not blaming her...it's not her fault, the only thing I'm blaming her for is letting her health get so damn bad she had to wait until now to do anything. Had she taken care of this when it first started, she wouldn't have to go through any of this.

The only good thing about it is that it's over a dollar more an hour, but the bad thing is that I'm stuck on that crew. No, I can't be moving to A crew with Sam, it's gotta be to fucking D crew.

Fuck my life.
