This laptop's mouse touchpad thing. When I try to scroll down or up, it keeps wanting to adjust my screen size. Frustrating.

(inb4 blahblah shut up and get a wireless mouse)

No...not that...it's the reason I always keep a corded mouse on my laptops...I never use a cordless or battery powered model because BATTERIES DIE TOO FAST.

Good point, the one on our home system eats them like crazy. The keyboard goes through them half as fast.

Today's rant:

Not only is it FUCKING COLD today, but because of the monsoon we had yesterday, I went out this morning to go to work only to be denied access to my truck because the doors were frozen shut. After leaning against the one door long enough to create heat to thaw it (meantime freezing in the bitter wind and cursing a storm), I then go to scrap the windows ... only to realize the pathetic scraper I have won't even reach far enough on the windshield to be of ANY use to me! GRRR.

Then, go to leave work and find the battery is dead on the truck. So another wait in the cold for the bf to come and jump it....

Which was delayed by the fact that he had our backup vehicle torn apart to put new brakes on it since he'll have to drive that for awhile. The goddamn Audi is sidelined indefinitely with trans problems.

Fucking vehicles.

Tell me about it. We decided to shitcan a project I've been working on at work for the past two years. The only thing that's making it somewhat okay is none of the reason why are on me.

I stopped caring about work long ago. you want me on that project? good to go. canceled? ok whatever. I'm on that one now? rock on. my home and personal life are what's really important, not work. Work is just a means to an end and I could care less about it or the projects I work on. So long as the check clears when they pay my bill I'll bust my ass for them on whatever the fuck you want me to work on.

i try to pass this along at where I work. While I am here, I give 100%, but this IS NOT MY LIFE. This is just my job. There are guys I work with who will do 4 or 6 doubles in a row (16 hour shifts). The just about live at that place. Fuck that shit. They're always going on about how much they make... at what cost? No home lives, always tired... that's no way to live.

Apparently not wanting to bring another mouth to feed into an already-overpopulated world when we can barely make ends meet as is makes me "heartless" and "selfish".

I hate the pressure from people not involved. I (at 27... close to 28) do not now, nor have I ever, wanted kids. I don't foresee that attitude changing anytime soon. Neither does the bf. Why is that so hard to accept?

I don't hate kids or people who have them. It's not for me. I don't like kids enough to want any. I don't have the time, money, or patience. Yes, it IS a bit selfishly motivated because it'll be MY body, MY job, MY money etc.

People who phone me up randomly while I am at work to ask very complex questions. (Because they had the great idea to take some physics courses at university despite being challenged by basic math.)

Essentially, I am at work on a friday, my phone rings, and I spend the next two hours walking her though what a Bose-Einstein Condensate is.

FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!

Selling a car on Kijiji/Craigslist. The latest fail was some guy who was going to for sure buy it for two weeks, asked questions, etc etc we agreed on a price and a date and he wanted it without a doubt. Confirmed two days before the pickup date, Sat at 8am. 12 hours before he is supposed to pick it up he says he has to back out because insurance is higher than he thought.

IS THIS NOT THE FIRST THING YOU DO WHEN LOOKING AT A CAR?!

When I bought that car I got quotes two weeks before I bought it. Quotes are even available online without leaving your house or using a phone!

I don't even want to relist the car after months and months of this bullshit even if my dad wants to scrap it. It's my beloved first car that I've had for 6 years, but I'm just SO tired of this crap. It's a $500 car, not a fucking mortgage.

And dealing with this involves driving from Toronto to Peterborough. Grrrrrr...
