LOL I just got my results this morning. Monday, the phlebotomist missed the vein, she said my vein collapsed. I said isn't that something that happens to elderly people?? What is wrong with me? Turns out that I should have drank more water. Anyway, the results say my blood pressure is in the High Risk category. WTF?? Another depressing wellness assesement.

i weight 295lbs and my blood pressure is 110/80.
some of us are genetically fat bastards... at least my blood sugar is back to somewhat normal.

Well, just found out we have 8-10 weeks to go from making $82,000 a month to making $200,000 a month or corporate in Texas will let our lease run out. It runs out on December 31st. I just got stable again, and yet again it looks like I will be out of a job. I am sooooooo fucking pissed.

i fucking hate it.

i did find out that my blood sugar is a more normal 108 now...

You're just getting around to it? Did you get the letter that says do it or don't bother showing up for work till you do?

And Dave...don't listen to Sam...he's hated every place he's ever lived or worked. Where you work and live is what you make of it. We border Vermont, PA and Conn.

Ya know, I just looked for the first time on a map where Witherbee is, an I drove within 50 miles of yall when I was on the road. Son of a Bitch, I would have stopped in if I knew yall was that close, I thought ya was on the other side of the state. Vermont seems like a nice place, how are their emissions laws.....................

Which ones? Vehicle or otherwise?

Vehicle, they're comparable to NY. Standard OBD II or whatever plug in computerized inspection, not as bad as CA or other states, as far as I know of anyway. Sam would know the current standards better than I would really.

They don't strap anything on your tailpipe and cars made before and during a certain model year vehicles can be exempt in Vermont too, like they are in NY, if I remember right. My stepdad just bought a 2000 Silverado which is exempt in NY. I'm guessing it would probably be exempt in Vermont as well. Just calling for the standard safety inspection, not the plug in check.

This might answer some of your questions.

http://dmv.vermont...ty/laws/inspection

And I take that back, my stepdad's truck wouldn't be OBD II exam exempt in Vermont. It has to be older than 1996 to be exempt.

What pisses me off is that the tv show being filmed at my work is only a half hour show on Friday nights, when it would be better if it were an hour long show. Half an hour is not long enough to show three different cases. By the way, I have been on tv two episodes in a row
(The show is called "ER Vets" (2010), it is filmed at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Toronto, ON and it's aired Fridays at 8:30pm on CMT, channel 38 on Rogers cable.)

what pisses me off at work? Neil. He's supposed to relieve me by 20 after the hour. He calls at 5 after and says he's just leaving his house (25 minutes away). It's quarter of the hour when he finally comes waddling down the road, cup of coffee in hand, paper in the other.

BUT, sweet revenge is having the phone ring not 10 minutes ago and hearing that same guy who put the wood to me this morning asking me to come in early because his relief called off... karma is a motherfucker.

Ditto, minus the cat.

My fucking phone rings all godamned day. And half the emails I get from colleagues are fucking retarded. And NO I cannot make the logo bigger.

Revenge is knowing I have union functions to attend and getting to hammer the fuckers with overtime because of them. The assholes who bitched and complained to MY FACE when I took personal days that they had to work 12 hour shifts over Labor Day and last Tuesday night so I could take my nephew to a show last week. I get no vacation in the summertime. I'm too low on the totem pole to get it yet. In another 5 or 10 years, maybe, but now, I have to wait. So I take my personal days in the summer and my vacations when I can get them.

Sometimes, this is such a sweet ass gig it isn't funny. Revenge and getting paid for it at the same time. What makes it even better...the clerks don't necessarily tell them till the last minute that I'm not coming in because of union business.

Customer: "I want to return this toy, the package is bent"
Me: "We don't take returns"
Customer: "but the package is bent"
Me: "It happens"
Customer: "I want to return it. Someone could have opened it"
Me: "No one opened it. We do not take returns"
Customer: "Where does it say that?"
Me: *points to 6 different signs in the general area*
Customer: "You're being mean"
Me: "I'm sorry there's nothing I can do"
Customer: "You have to!! How do you know no one has used this??"
Me: "BECAUSE WE DONT TAKE ANY RETURNS! EVER! THE END"

Lolz I is mean.

a comment like this worries me because over my vacation i ordered the little visor things that go over the door windows for my Beretta... i had them a couple of days before I opened them and test fit them. They don't even match the curve of the door, nor do they look all that great. But, because they were a special order, i have no idea if i will be able to return them.

Those are car parts. Not sex toys, Sam.

Next week will be 5 years I've worked for IP. Next week, my boss will come give me this stupid pin that commemorates 5 years of service with the company, take pictures and basically make a big deal out of something that's not really a huge deal. Well, for certain people it is. Other people, they don't give a shit about.

It's the longest I've been with any employer, I've not spent this long anywhere else. Usually by now, I'm done and gone because there's been some kind of disagreement or other issue.

For me, the only issue I'm having with it is the photograph. I'm one of those people who would rather keep out of the spotlight if I can help it. I bust my ass at work and for the union behind the scenes. I'm the research flunky and tech guru on the floor at work and for the union. I can lead, but prefer not to, I'd rather be an indian instead of a chief. But with my coworker out for at least 3 or 4 months for surgery, who's the vice president of the union, I have to step out of the shadow and onto the front line to try to fill in for him. Not in office, but in trying to do the job he did.

So, it's a combination of pissed off and scared to death, because I don't know what the hell I'm doing.
