Stupid things people have said this week.

"Is this REALLY the price?" - No we like to play the guessing game
"I want a toy [adult]" "What kind?" "A vibrating one"
"You need to give me a discount" - referring to a $10 movie
"I'm looking for a movie with this girl... she has big boobs"

Workers that say me getting to old for this and they are 23 years old

What pisses me off at work?

-equipment that doesn't work
-management that doesn't care
-things that don't get fixed
-and me being expected to work around all the above...

This usually makes me want to slap the shit out of somebody...especially when I work with a guy who's 54 years old and just had fucking open heart surgery and he's back to work like nothing happened after less than three months.

Prime example this week...I had to train someone who told me to my face, "I don't have to learn this, I'm an office worker". Well, he got an education in how bad my job is and how hard it is to keep up with Bill, who had heart surgery and he'll keep getting an education, every time he works with either of us.

Fairly new hire who was shuffled off to the warehouse to train on the clerk's job after "falling" off a broke truck. He's too "important" to be on the floor. Asshole thinks by sucking up to management he's going to get upstairs. It'll surprise the hell out of me if he does. Douchebag has never been outside of an office, supposedly. I think he's just lazy, stupid and doesn't like to get dirty.

He got an education. I didn't say a word. I just made him do the entire job and help Bill in the wrapper dispenser upstairs. I sat back and watched. Also we got the unpleasant job of cleaning out the basement of the primary lowerator. Again, we both, Bill and I, made him do most of it.

I made him do it all on the ramp though. I refused to help unless it was absolutely necessary, like if we were falling behind and the machine room called us bitching. I can say this...I have never seen anyone look like they were hit by a truck after 8 hours putting in headers for Bill. Even me at 7am after a drunken night out.

Also, Bill said he saw you this past week. Dunno if you saw him or not.

bwahahaha... Floyd tried sucking up to the mill manager by putting an engine in his Tahoe to get maintenance. LOL... didn't happen. it's good when bad things happen to dumb people.

I have my own share of bullshit too. One great example...

There's this woman, fairly new hire. She worked with me when Mary Lou was on vacation so Bill could go run the rewinder. She wouldn't even get in the wrapper dispenser, I had to call Bill on the winder to come help me with a particularly bad plug up.

Anyway, she's lazy, stupid and a bloodthirsty cutthroat who is looking to kill/maim/etc anyone she can that gets her where she wants to be...and where she wants to be is on my crew and in my job. She's made that clear that she wants my spot, not only in the union but in the plant.

Don't get me wrong, I have it pretty good with Bill, I have for the past five years. But what bothers me is that someone thinks they're going to get ahead by stabbing people in the back in a union shop and when they make me a target. She won't get anywhere, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna put up with it for very long. She's basically got the point now though, that if anything happens...I will blame her and I will take her with me.

Help you hire..They come to you begging for work......You hire.......Then they dont show up...Then a week later they show up still wanting the job

Bloodthirsty cutthroats who want your job, your position and your life, not necessarily in that order either. I have it pretty good, I work with a great guy, I have a job I'm reasonably comfortable with and I'm good at and a good reputation with most of my coworkers.

Something happened though.

Last week, I got my ass chewed out for something I supposedly said to another union member by a friend of mine. I was called sarcastic and "uppity" with a side of holier than thou thrown in for good measure.

I now know where it came from...the woman I mentioned in a previous posting in this thread went to my friend and told him what she thought of me. Which was what I outlined above. Basically, she spoke with me about some issue she had and didn't like my answer, which was basically shut the fuck up, do your job and go home, at least if you wanna make it where I work without dealing with bullshit. I said it in a much more polite fashion, of course.

What she doesn't understand is that nobody fucks with me, not anymore, not after the past four months and not after what I finally broke down and said to my former boss about doing a shitty job that we always ended up doing.

She has now started a war, one she won't win and that she'll never see the end of, not as long as I am alive anyway. I don't care what others think of me, as long as it's said to my fucking face. When someone doesn't have the balls to say it and this person goes and tries to poison my friends and coworkers who I have worked with for over 5 years and who know me because they spend more time with me than my own family and one man who is family because of the time we've worked together, she is fucking with the wrong person and she will learn that, if I have to teach her myself with a fucking baseball bat.

I have never had a job where there wasn't another employee trying to sabotage either my job or another's. I went from a job that paid 20 an hour to 9 an hour because of this. Either you go into a new job and do so well that you threaten someones job so they badmouth you and get you fired, or you sabotage yourself by not doing as well as you should.

Not even management fucks with me anymore. I have respect where I work because of what I have done and continue to do for the company. I can make a few pieces of equipment work and keep them working so they make a lot of people a lot of money. Also I can make a certain computer program do whatever the fuck I want it to. People high up in the company know who I am without me even introducing myself.

I work for the union because my dear friend and coworker asked me to. That is the only reason I do it. That's the only reason I do a lot of things at work is because he asked me to.

I was trying to help this bitch and she decided to stab me and my friends in the back, I only found out this morning that she's not only gone after me, but others. So, I am not alone and I am somewhat vindicated.

Where I work...if you stay the fuck out of the drama, do your job and go home, you are a lot better off. I can't seem to stress it enough. I also can't seem to stress enough that even though I'm a union representative, I am going to tell you the truth. I am not going to tell you the things you want to hear, I am not going to blow smoke up your ass and talk to you about fucking rainbows and bunny rabbits. I am going to tell you the brutally honest truth in the most fucking polite way I can tell you. Just because you do not like the honest truth, does not mean I will lie to you. It also does not give you the permission to fuck with my life, my job or my friends.

<sigh> I better stop before I give myself an aneurysm.

You have no idea how true that is. At least where I am.

I don't want to manage anything, hell, I don't care if I'm even remembered for anything I've done, all I want is to keep what I have and stay where I am. I like what I do, I give 110 percent to Bill and my job. When I feel threatened, I get defensive and then go on the offensive and I won't let anyone take what I've worked hard to earn away from me because of petty bullshit jealousy or envy. I've busted my ass for the past five and a half years to earn what I have and get where I am, which is to be left alone to do what I like doing and go to work every day with my friends.

Sounds like why I got the ax from Radio Shack. I was doing great back in Ohio. Then I moved up to Michigan, came into a new store and was showing up a girl who thought she was top dog (really just a delusional psycho...she told everyone she was the manager when she wasn't more than a part-time peon. Not to mention dumber than a bag of hammers.) and later a manager with 20 years' seniority. It really burnt their asses that I sold circles around them and people would ask for me by name.

So they started sabotaging me. Psycho would tell the manager on my days off/shifts I wasn't there that I "stole sales" from her. Or she would just flat-out take my sales, tell me she was giving me credit, and then I never got it. The manager started out playing the good guy by asking me if it were true, but eventually sided with Psycho when I was out-selling her (the manager).


Hell hath no fury as a psycho woman upstaged.

The fact that we need to call India to ask them to request one of our tech guys to come fix our computers. Can't stop em in the hall, you gotta call India.

The US needs to approve if we can buy a new printer or not. Do you know how much bloody paper we go through?

We get goals that are unattainable. They are actually designed to be unattainable but they are supposed to make you work hard. Here's an idea, let us do our jobs well and not make us feel like shit that we can't complete a goal. This will be the only time I say this, I miss working in banking.
