Remember my previous post about the guy that I share an office with that eats Wendys every day for lunch? Well, he is still doing it, eating Wendys every single fucking day.

During the day, I sometimes have to cover the front desk so the agent on duty can have lunch. I have an extremely low tolerance for customer bullshit now.

Guest: Do you have any recommendations for dinner? Somewhere different. Somewhere we can't eat in California.
Me: Okay! There's a really awesome restaurant called The Yellow Porch. They use local ingredients and the chef is really creative and amazing. They use herbs from their garden outside!
Guest: Uh... well... I don't know.
Me: What are you in the mood for? There's another good restaurant called the Sunset Grill that has a great sweet potato ravioli and they'll pick you up right here so you don't have to drive!
Guest: Uh... well... uhm.... are there any steak places close?
Me: . . .

The variant on this is when I go through my song and dance of describing the restaurants and what's so good about them only to have the guest ask for directions to either Longhorn or Shoney's.

the few tools that they give me to do my job as a reverse engineer/ auto CAD draftsman (protractor, measuring tape, and calipers, which is the very minimum I to function) keeps being 'borrowed' by someone else (usually when I'm away from my desk), and then I have to go find him when they disappear without a trace. Then the dumbass complains when I ask to use them, and even offer to bring them back when I'm done.

People who just don't listen. Today, a lady was complaining that I didn't let her into the building. Um, when I say into the intercom "The door is unlocked, you can come in.", wouldn't that give you the first clue that maybe you should grab the door handle and pull on it? Naw, too f**king complicated. Been a crap day. Literally five minutes before I assumed the desk position, I was being briefed on three major bulls**t incidents.

Fortunately the computer at work doesn't have sound. I would have been playing this loudly in the lobby halfway through my shift and I'm not even a country fan. (Oh, this while famous, is not safe for work)

I had trouble like that with my Calipers and gauge set. (PCB designer) and after a few times I told the ME's that if they took them again I would put thier fucking head through their monitor (I was also voted most likely to go postal)... I stopped having troubles shortly after.

once a month, we have 'safety meetings' where I work. We go over safety stuff... anyways, every fucking meeting we have to idiots who just can't shut the fuck up. I mean, they just run their collective mouths at full volume back and forth across the table arguing over the most trivial and ridiculous shit.

it gets old.

People that during the course of my job I have to assist with IT issues. It sucks so bad then their desk and keyboard/mouse are just fucking nasty and I need to help them in person on that actual computer.

-crumbs everywhere
-hair
-mystery crud around the more popular keys and on the mouse buttons. Like so think you could peel or scrape it off.
-coffee stains/spills all over the desk.
-desk chair with stains all over it.
-desk chair with mystery crud on the arm rests.

Simply disgusting. I'd rather walk through a sewer flowing with human excrement than use these people's computer.

I've opened up mice, full of coke, and various pops.

Best one yet was a keyboard, opened it up to clean it since we had only one spare left and it takes weeks to get another (military), I could smell coffee, nope, Timmies coffee, no again, Timmies french vanilla. Yup, called up to the tower and asked if someone drinks FV, kindly asking them to move the cup away from the keyboards. after that another TED from frequentis went down and I could smell the same thing from it. Coffee inside the TED.

Working on easter and not getting holiday pay. I don't care about the holiday itself, but if I have to sit on my ass for 10 hours and stare at an empty parking lot, I at least want a bit extra for it

We haven't gotten holiday pay for it in years. That went when the time and a half for Sundays was taken out of the contract back in the 80's.

When the parent company (who I imagine a warehouse full of monkeys flinging poo & picking bugs out of eachothers hair) comes down, "please make this correction." 30 mintues until the month closes out. Then after spending 3 days wracking my brain on how they come up with this, to find out no correction is needed.

Following this comes a satisfaction that can only be described as bliss:

The at-fault email comes thru after being proved wrong, a correction washing out the alleged 'needed correction' is made.

Going to the bathroom at work, and when using the urinal noticing that some nasty individual wipes boogers on the wall. What kind of fucked up person does that, stands there pissing with one hand, while the other is digging up into their nose then wiping it on the wall. Gross bastards.

Better than seeing a toilet bowl full of shit, used tampons and/or maxis. Women can be 10x as gross.

There's a "wall booger" guy at my place of work too. The fuckers! You know this means they leave boogers on their walls at home too. Fuckin' savages.

fuck that, I have to clean my walls at home, I won't leave boogers there. I've got no problem leaving them on the bathroom walls at work, the person who cleans my office washroom has to clean the walls... ha ha

(shit.... I work from home)

I'm about ready to freak on the secretary at work. I don't have a printer so I have to email my lists to her to be printed. She took the liberty of changing a list to what she figures it should look like and printed it.

Great feeling when I saw two hours worth of work reduced to an illegible mess. After 45 minutes of arguing, she finally printed out the correct version. I've asked the manager for a printer for my desk (or at least access to the main printer) and was told "This is being worked on.".

Blagh!

Can't you go to Staples and buy a $49 printer yourself and then take a sick day to reimburse yourself?
